I am 58, former body builder-- never used any drugs. My family Dr tested me for testosterone-- came up 325. My entire psyche has been down and out for a while... this explains it... Put me on androgel 1.62. I got sore nipples, swollen chest (tits) and test went down to 300. He sent me to an endocronologist. Did a work up-- said I don't really have low test -- but gave me tomaxifin w the androgel. Nipples still get sore and burning-- and only seeing minor changes. been almost 3 months on the full therapy..SHe wants me to go off of it all together..... any suggestions?

Welcome to Excelmale. How long have you been on Androgel? What is your estradiol level (measured via the "sensitive" assay)? Finally, the appropriate drug to moderate estradiol, levels in men is Anastrozole, not Tamoxifen. Frankly, you, like so many of us, started TRT with a doctor who isn't aware of current best practices in hormone replacement.

Hi Steve,
Finding a good doc can be a nightmare!! Been there done that... Many Docs don't like it when YOU give THEM information. Call Defy, get a blood workup and consult. It wont cost much. You will love Dr Saya, He is great.

Stephen, you definitely need a better doctor. If you post the city you live in, maybe someone can help you find a better doctor.
