Things have been up and down just like a couple of you said with twice a month injections. I feel great for the first 5 to 6 days and then boom im back to my old self. Called the doc today and he said I could up the dose to 1.5cc every 14 days or take 100mg twice per week in the stomach. I figured the shots in the belly would be best but he said he wanted me to try the higher dose first because he will have to order new needles and show me how to do it. Wouldn't upping the dose give me the same results taking every two weeks?

No. If you are using Test-Cypionate, the half-life is 72 hours, so the increase will only create a greater drop at the same point in your two weeks.

Is it just me or does anyone else experience soreness after injecting test cyp into the abdomen sc? I prefer shoulders or quads. Every time I have tried the stomach I get a painful lump that lasts for a few days. Tried both grapeseed and sesame oil

I gotta do something because these injections feel like they are done after just a few days. Is there any medical reasons why the benefits would stop so soon?

There is a possibility you are a fast metabolizer(sp) of Testosterone, but I still stand by the above, where you need to get to weekly or twice weekly injections, and then see how you feel. Once every two weeks even with the increased dosage is not going to stabilize your blood serum levels, so the up and down is going to be severe if you ask me.

Your original post is titled "about a month in". Does this mean you have only been on TRT for a month? Check out this thread on the length of time it takes to see the benefits of testosterone therapy: https://www.excelmale.com/forum/showthread.php?1519-How-long-does-testosterone-take-to-show-effects

Many guys seem to take a few steps forward, than a few backwards during the beginning of therapy. Usually within the initial 90 days or so, guys report that they originally felt a boost, then it sort of fizzled out after a few weeks leading them to feel 'back to normal'. Then, soon after they start to feel better each week over the long term. This initial up and down could be due to your body trying to realign with new hormone levels. This is just my layman guess, I am sure there are multiple complex reasons these things can happen.

Definitely go with the twice per week injections that your doctor is offering. It will make a huge difference in how you feel moving forward.

I am dealing with ups/downs/highs/lows as I'm eight weeks into an IM protocol. In regard to the undeniable highs I've felt (followed by a flatter response as days pass), my doctor attributed it to dopamine firing more strongly than it had in years and my body adjusting to that unexpected feeling. "Blame it on the dopamine...", sounds something like the title of a song.

Had my appt moved up two months so I will be meeting with him on the 18th instead of in Feb. Hopefully I can get on the twice a week injections to see how that does. My wife is a follow the rules to a T type of person with medicine so even my suggestion of taking half a the dose once a week didnt go over to well but she started noticing my "old" self coming back (no sex drive, tired, snapping) so she agreed but now I have another issue which is I dont have enough supplies to do it. I have two needles left which I will I have to use like prescribed or wont be able to take the meds like they were directed. Guess the bright side is that this is gonna get better soon.

He may be correct about increase in Dopamine as it does happen the first couple of months in for new guys on TRT.

Your best bet is twice weekly injections like Monday morning and Thursday night.

What are your E2 levels and is your Doc trained in TRT for men?

At the start of IM protocol, eight weeks ago, E2 was in low normal range on the standard test. I am due for a second check and am waiting until I travel to the U.S. in two weeks to have a specific test run (not easily available where I live). My doctor is a terrific partner in this endeavour, willing to read and consult when she doesn't have an answer to an initial question/challenge.

I like that he brought up the dopamine factor. That is often overlooked as a contributor to some of the initial functional changes (arousal, motivation, motor control, etc) that occur when treatment in initiated. This is part of the balancing your body will adjust to during the first phase of treatment.

I injected in shoulder yesterday,,,,,,ouch, I think it was difficult for me because I could not fully relax the shoulder, and it is rather developed, but I will try again. Periodically I will get sore from the exact sites/methods you mention, I have been using the upper inner thigh for injection site which is a little more fleshy ( if that is a word ), I dont feel nothin, no bump, or bruise. Thanks Duane! I am actually the opposite, I am very sensitive injecting into the thigh. It not only is painful going in, but I always am left with a Charlie horse even when injecting just hcg or b12. The shoulders are very easy for me, but I do know what you are talking about when referring to not being able to relax the shoulder. I have found that injecting the delt while sitting, and leaning your injection arm onto your inner leg or lap to rest it. You may be able to find a position which helps relax the delt prior.
