high blood pressure issues

I was taking 100 mgs divided into 50 mg injections twice a week. This was putting my TT above 1100 ( in the trough) I realize that's probably too high and I should have lowered the dose but I was loving the results, mostly in the gym. I noticed my blood pressure creeping up and when it got to 160 /80 I decided I better get off and see what's going on. To cut to the chase - I haven't injected in three weeks and I'm still at 160/ 80. Shouldn't those numbers have come down if the T was causing it ? I'm thinking now maybe it isn't the testosterone that is causing the elevated numbers ( actually hoping so I can go back on at a lower dose) I'm 63 maybe it's just time that I need something to control bp. I'm seeing my primary doc tomorrow (who isn't onboard with TRT.)

Hi Josh, Im 64 (120/72 RHR 58) no BP meds. I don't believe after a certain age you have to go on BP meds.
Your PCP will most likely give you some because that is all they know and how they get paid.

I would go back on your T and look else where. Are you taking a NO(nitric oxide) stack? They do wonders for BP. Gene's stack in the nutrition folder is very good I use that one.
Omega 3 Fish oil 3000-4000/day, CoQ10 120mg/day work wonders for BP.

100mg/wk to 1100 trough sure sound strange. When you say you are taking 50mg x2 that's 0.25 on your syringe, right? Some have got that wrong and ended up doubling their dose so I am just checking.

Salt is my blood pressure killer but I find when my testosterone levels are good and everything is balanced I can handle a lot more of it.

Haven't tried the NO, a guy brought that up in the gym. I have tried everything else magnesium , herbal teas, etc etc, this stuff "Corditone" that I saw recommended here and people swear by on Amazon reviews. Believe me meds are a last resort. I love the look on a new Drs face when they ask for my list of meds and I tell them I don't take anything

My son loads my syringes and he's an experienced steroid user and we are positive of the dose I've been taking.

Can't seem to find Gene's NO stack, but I don't need any Cialis or anything like that anyway. How much Arginine do you recommend, I'm going to go get some later and try that. I have some beta alanine in my stash and I'll add that.

The low dose cialis is not for ED. It helps expand/soften your bodies bloodvessels. This drops your BP.

Here's Gene's NO stack thread. page 28 is where I joined the discussion.

Saw the doc this am, bp was 160/80. As expected he gave me a script. It's not ready for pick up till tomorrow so I tried some other stuff. This pm Took a teaspoon of red pepper and some beta alanine and went to the firehouse. 145 / 80 ! I'm not giving in to the meds yet !

What was the script for? It's important to investigate the bad side effects like ED loss of libido, etc.
1-4 mg of Doxazosin (an Alpha Blocker) is a good choice it does not seem to have any bad sides. YMMV

I forgot the name, they sent the script right over to the pharmacy. He saw I was really reluctant to start it and said it's very mild , no side effects , he takes it himself. I do remember he said I don't need a beta blocker but I'm really not familiar with any of these drugs and hopefully I won't have to be.

Josh - Make sure you check your hematocrit, too. TRT can often cause it to rise, and if it's too high that can definitely raise your blood pressure. That's what happened to me... I was already being treated for hypertension and I had to double my medication until I figured out what was going on.

Also when hematocrit gets high, even after discontinuing T it takes a long time come back down to a healthy level on its own. Donating blood (or therapeutic phlebotomy) will bring it down faster.

He gave me Lisinopril 20 mgs, God I don't want to take this shit after looking at the sides online.

Then don't. Call him up and ask for something else. I posted one that works.
PCP's are scary how little they seem to know and how bad their choices are for meds.
They don't seem to care about side effects probably because they have stock in that med company.

Hawthorn berry. My BP was running around 150/95 and up, read about Hawthorn berry and started taking about 3 grams a day (divided into 3 doses) a couple months ago. Dilates blood vessels including the coronary arteries, and gets more blood flow to the actual heart muscles. Took my BP at home last week Monday Wednesday and Friday and it averages 130/75. My Dr. is impressed at the numbers, I feel better already, and I KNOW my circulation is much better simply because the last couple winters my toes stayed freezing cold ALL the time. This winter the weather is much colder and my toes haven't been cold at all like they were.

I do take 20mg a day of Lisinopril, but a couple years of that made almost no difference until I started taking the Hawthorn. Garlic is good also for BP and other things. Changing my diet, and adding 3 grams a day of fish oils made a huge difference in my Cholesterol levels. Dr. prescribed me a statin (of course) when they tested my total cholesterol at 283. I never took the first pill. 3 months later I went back in for the test and the doc asked me "are you taking the statin?" I says nope, not the first one. "Well, have you changed your diet?" YES I HAVE! And I described my changes, he says "OK we'll see what the difference is from 3 months ago and go from there" When the results came back he called and left me a voice mail saying "you just keep doing what you are doing and we'll check again in another three months." My new total cholesterol count was like 242, I know he wants it below 200 but I also know he was surprised to see that much of a drop in that amount of time without his "miracle of modern medicine" statins.

I didn't see any ed sides with the stuff he prescribed. The thing that jumped out at me was things like don't get up fast , don't sweat excessively in the heat. WTF , half my life I'm sweating (in Central Fl) ie at the gym, working in my yard, I run Hiit at the football field
