My SHBG is usually between 12 and 18, and I’ve always had the impression that I should almost ignore the free testosterone and just focus on the total, but I’m starting to wonder if I have it backward. I want a reasonable amount of testosterone for someone my age or just a little bit better, and...
I can find tons of info on the effects of exercise and weight lifting on T levels with those that aren't on TRT but nothing on those that are. I assume that since we are on TRT, exercise will have a very different result after training. Do exercise and weight lifting use our testosterone, so...
I might be having some trouble getting things dialed in on daily injections, and I very much want to find out what my peak is. Does anyone have any idea about how long after injection to get labs done for peak? I think I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that five hours would be peak...
So I had a CBC on Tuesday and didn’t think I was dehydrated, but my veins didn’t really show up very well so maybe I was and my hematocrit was 49.1. I decided to retest on Thursday and make sure I was hydrated and it came back at 44. My question is does anybody know how accurate the quest lab...
I think I’m gonna go back to Defy. I just need to get labs back and my doctor to complete the physical form and I can schedule an appointment with Dr. Saya
So I got another message back from the endocrinologist, and he says he doesn’t want me to take any iron supplements at all since this will raise my hematocrit. My hematocrit is currently 46.2, so I feel like I’ve got a little room to go up there and supplement with iron for a little bit but I...
So I just got a message back from the nurse who talked to my endocrinologist and he wasn’t helpful at all. All he replied with was this is to be expected when donating blood and if I supplement with iron it will increase my hemoglobin. I told the nurse yes I know all this but I’m miserable so...
You’re absolutely right and that’s what makes all the tough is knowing what the side effects from the medication are versus low iron versus the change in the testosterone. It’s been really hard to sort out but still feeling really miserable having the chest pain and severe anxiety and a bunch of...
Are there any other labs that anyone recommends? Is the any pointing gettin the iron lab or is ferritin sufficient? I am going to get B vitamin, full thyroid, and vitamin D.
So yeah, my testosterone was high, and that gave me high hematocrit and then donated blood twice in two weeks which obviously dropped my iron quite a bit at the same time between dieting till now I’ve cut out white rice and sweet potato and swap them out for whole-grain bread and eating a lot of...
All these feelings were there before I started the medication, and I can’t say for sure that they’re not causing some of the problems now, but that’s what I hate about medication is how can one really know what’s going on when you’re taking multiple things. I hope to get off all of those...
Yes, I have an update, and I have to say this has been an absolute disaster.
They now have me on Prozac, BuSpar, and Klonopin full-time, but I’m finally starting to feel a little better but far from normal. New labs came back a couple of days ago at total test for 482 free test 108. It seems...
So I really screwed up and reduced my dose from 15mg/dy to 8/mg day in one shot and now I’m really paying the price.
I’m 42 and have been on test for about five years and have low SHBG so I’ve gone to an every day protocol in the last couple years.
In January I started dieting and lost almost...
First let me say that Melissa at Defy is awesome! She saw this thread and called me last night and we made quite a few change to my protocol.
So i'm going to start with 35mg test eod and .15 arimidex eod with shot, also changed the HCG to 150 iu HCG Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
I'm going to...
I've heard about eod being better for low shbg guys, do you think I should call Defy and ask if I can do eod or should I keep doing what they suggested for 4 weeks and then maybe go to eod if necessary? Is there any down side to eod vs e3.5 days?
The lady at Defy went though all other labs and asked if I had any questions so I asked about the SHBG and she kind of replied like no big deal since were lowering the test to 50mg e3.5d the SHBG will come up as the testosterone comes down.
I also stopped taking DHEA, I was taking 50mg eod and my DHEA went up to 520 so I stopped that for 4 weeks as well and it came down to 288 but I didn't think that would raise me e2, if anything I thought it would drop it.
My 3 month labs are here
Since my 3 month labs I stopped DHEA and the nurse at Defy saw my last post and had me start .25 Arimidex twice a week with test shot but still on 60mg test e3.5d and 250 iu HCG Monday, Wednesday and Friday - Labs below are from this protocol after 4 weeks.
I had my...
I left message for the nurse at Defy and she called me back 30 minutes later, she said to start the .25 AI on day of shot or day after. THe next set of labs I will ask for SHGB, is there any other labs I should ask for next time? Does anyone know when the do labs next? 3 more months maybe...
I think i was dehydrated actually. Does this mean my HCT is not really high and I might not need to donate blood yet?
I was thinking of taking .25 anastrozole on test shot day for a few weeks until I talk to Defy, is this a bad idea? Maybe .25 once a week. I'm freaked out by high e2.
Thanks
I've had low test for a few years now that ranged from 250-350 and have been waiting for the wife to get pregnant before starting trt, she's now 5 months pregnant and i'm 3 month into trt with Defy. I have a follow-up with a nurse at Defy in about 3 weeks but wanted some thoughts on my labs...
Just an update... I got labs back from Defy today and the sensitive E2 test showed 137.3 and TT 1125, this was a week after the prior labs. I got my appointment with Dr Crisler scheduled for next Thursday.
Okay so I'll stop the HCG today, I know everyone is different but does anyone know about how long for estrogen & test levels to return to normal? Do they usually drop together or does one take longer? Not sure if I should expect a couple weeks or a couple months.
Coastwatcher thanks for the reply.
I will take your advice and not start anything but just to clarify do you think I should stop hcg all together so my e2 will come down or continue the 6000iu/wk until I talk to defy? The high e2 sides have got me a little freaked out. Thanks
