You're probably right. But how can experts like Dr. Rand claim 200 - 300 mg/week are completely safe (and required for most men to have a good clinical response) when obviously the opposite is the case? I don't get it.

Hi Guys,
I've read that testosterone doses of more than about 100 mg/week can cause cardiomyopathy and or left ventricular hypertrophy when used long term. On the other hand, renowned experts like Dr. McClain recommend a starting dose of 200 mg for TRT. What is your guys opinion on this?
I've...
Hi,
there is evidence that high dose NAC can cause depletion of zinc when taken long term by forming a complex with the zinc and increasing it's renal excretion (see linked studies below). I wonder, if it is OK to take 600 mg NAC with zinc/ZMA at the same time or if it would compromise the...
I take 10 mg of zinc with my multi vitamin/mineral (oxide form) and 30 mg as ZMA (Original SNAC version, ON Brand). My HDL was fine a week ago.

I think, there is a lot of empirical evidence, too. I mean, hundreds of bodybuilders and strenght athletes probably have taken antioxidants for decades, without detrimental effects on their mass/strength gains. So I would postulate that the impact can't be *that* strong, at least for most...
BTW, here is what I currently take Pre/Post workout:
Pre:
100 mg caffeine (or sometimes more, it depends)
25 mg sildenafil (enhanced "pump" and blood flow, easier breathing/better oxygenation, lowers BP peaks on heavy sets)
10 g BCAAs
1,5 g HMB
1,5 g of glucosamine sulfate
15 g of hydrolyzed...
Thank you.
Me too ;-) I think he was a great actor (and he never made a secret out of his opinion), he was just a little bit ... special ;->

Yes, but again, those studies are contradictory. There are a number of studies showing no negative impact of high dose vitamin E/C on workout performance/hypertrophy etc. That's why I wonder if there is finally a consensus.
Furthermore, there are some PHDs like Layne Norton (who specifically...
I highly respect Jerry Brainum, I'm a regular viewer of his videos and I think that most of the time he gives really sound advice (I don't agree with him on the whole "Insulin is making you fat therefore you should limit your carbs" thing though).
I remember him mentioning to take Vitamin E a...
Hi,
maybe one of you more experienced users can tell me something about this:
I mixed 500 g MSM with a small amount of ascorbic acid (hoping to achieve a synergistic effect on collagen synthesis etc.), and the mixture developed a strange, sweetish smell (similar to sugar beet syrup). AFAIK...
@Bonetti Gianluca:
Yes, but I think there's always room for improvement. Insulin is *the* most anabolic hormone.
BTW: Is there a actually consensus now by 2019 if antioxidants are really that bad for muscle growth/strenght gain? IMHO it has only been shown for high doses of vitamin C/E in a...
