E2 testing

Why is my Ultrasenstive e2 65. and double at what its supposed to be and my regular e2 is 33 which falls in normal range. Why is my sensrtive so high and regular is low? Has anyone heard of that happening ?

I though for sure you had mistaken the labs tests, ultrasensitive is always lower when compared with the standard estrogen labs tests. I've been waiting for you to come back and say you got the numbers mixed up.

No thats what they say thats why Im confused. Everything is good besides the E2. I have all the symptoms of high e2.. Im injecting 30 mg 3 x a week. Im at the end of trying to figure this out.

I haven't seen that before. My Estradiol under the Roche ECLIA methodology was 91.0 pg/ml on a range of 7.6 - 42.6 pg/ml at LabCorp and my Estradiol Sensitive, LC/MS/MS assay, was 35.3 pg/ml on the LabCorp range of 8.0 - 35.0 pg/ml. My non-sensitive Estradiol was almost three times higher than my Estradiol Sensitive.

I use Quest maybe there testing is diffrent. Im so confused because no one has seen this

I can't help but think this was a lab reporting error. It would not be the first time people on this forum have received inaccurate lab testing and reporting. Quest and LabCorp can have different ranges but they use the same two type testing assays; the Roche ECLIA and the LC/MS/MS. I'll bet they mixed up the report.

Exactly......... but PB's results are showing just the opposite.

We have member who have posted higher estradiol results on the sensitive test (as opposed to the standard test), but NOTHING like this.

No doubt if you have high E2 symptoms then the sensitive lab is likely correct. The other lab is likely an error.

All my other test that I have had in the past have shown my regular e2 in the mid to high 30s and I decided to do a ultrasenstive and it was double. Ive been on T the last 10 years and the last year has been a nightmare.

Im thinking of just making it simple and taking 100mg once a week and a .25 of Arrimdex on injection day amd seeimg if that works. Any feedback?

If your sensitive E2 is really at 65, and it could be, then that would explain how you are feeling but I don't think one large injection is going to help you. Do you know what your SHBG is? That is important to know to establish a proper injection protocol. If your SHBG is low and you take one large injection you are going to have lots of Free Estradiol floating around and could make things worse because your E2 will spike upward. If you have high SHBG then one large injection could help you. If you stay on the injections like you have now I would not take .25 mg of Arimidex on each injection. That's quite a bit for a week. You might be fine doing that but going fro high E2 to crashing it is just going from one frying pan to another. You could take one .25 mg Arimidex on our first injection of the week and then hold off and not take another .25 mg Arimidex unless you feel like you must.

I'd like to see others more qualified than I offer some additional advice.

LabCorp's range for SHBG is 19.3 - 76.4 nmol/l. If these are results from LabCorp then the mid range would be right at 48.0, based off the range, and you would be just below midrange.....I would call that good shape but you would not want to go with one large injections in my opinion.

When I was doing 200ng every 10 days my SHBG was 35 and when I went to 3 injection a week it went to mid 40s to upper 40s. Where do u want your SHBG

The SHBG for Quest Diagnostics is age based:

Range 10-50 nmol/l
Range 22-77 nmol//

Based of Quest's ranges: If you are 55 years old or younger then a SHBG of 40 is high normal and if you are older than 55 then SHBG of 40 is below midrange.

I think most people would prefer if they had a choice to be midrange on their SHBG because it makes their therapy a little easier.
