I started seeing an anxiety therapist who specialize in health anxiety,
I think this is important. IMO, anxiety is a part of your brain tricking other parts of your brain and your body into thinking something that is not true. The key is to find the cause of the anxiety, understand it, accept it, and live with it. By doing this, the anxiety is reduced. A good analogy is watching a scary movie. When you watch it you may really feel scared and have increased heart rate, scream out, get sweaty palms. These are real feelings, yet you are safe on your couch and there is no real danger. Much like anxiety, the scary movie is tricking the rest of your body into thinking there is danger or a real cause for anxiety. If you can break the cycle, understand the cause and accept that the reason for feeling this way is due to false inputs from a part of the brain, then anxiety can be dealt with and over time reduced. There are still triggers, but the triggers can be avoided or don't have to spiral into feelings of greater anxiety. Also keep in mind that a certain level of anxiety about certain things is normal and to be expected.
