Thanks Nelson! Great articles!
So given these and other recent studies and articles, curious if your opinion has changed since June 2015 where you posted, "I would only take metformin if I am fat, have glucose intolerance or insulin resistance. It can lower your T and B vitamins (if you are on TRT and taking vitamins this is a moot subject). It can cause gut distress at doses higher than 1000 mg per day. It can also lower appetite."
Here's my situation:
I'm not fat, but prob 10lbs overweight, 6'1', 195lbs
my A1C is not bad 5.5,
Glucose 90 (65-99)
Triglycerides 98
Total Chol 172
HDL 43
LDL 109
VLDL 20
my cardio vascular system seems fine ( CT scan with contrast, 0.0 calcium, no stenosis ),
I am 50 yrs old so starting to consider best approaches for avoiding cancer, and longer term Alzheimers. I am a Defy patient and working through the testosterone situation.
Appreciate your latest views on metformin
thanks!
