To me it's not that endocrinologists are poor doctors, it's that all doctors that take and depend on insurance are constrained by this. They aren't really in the business of optimizing health. But if you have a more serious condition recognized by the medical community, I think you get good treatment. IMO testosterone clinics have their own set of limitations. They tend to deal with healthy men that for one reason or another have substandard suboptimal testosterone. They are more in the genre of anti-aging clinics. As an example, if you have a pituitary tumor, you can't go to them for surgery. I can't say how well they deal with people with unusual problems, but that is my guess. I went to a good urologist who does not take insurance, Dr. Craig Niederberger in chicago, At least he wrote of few books and in them I know he used Clomid and likely I could go to him for TRT, BUT he mainly deals with Male infertility and andrology issues. And since he doesn't take insurance, likely it would end up more costly than Defy medical. If you have an unusual problem, you might have better luck looking for endocrinologists /doctors attached to universities or teaching hospitals. BUT I don't have any recommendations. Just my two bits on the subject.
