Hi,

I just read, "Testosterone: A Man's Guide", and I know that it's not recommended to do a full cycle of test for obvious reasons.

I just had an annual physical and here are my test results:

Test Total LS-MS-MS - 668 NG/DL 250-1100

Test Free Dialysis - 76.5 PG/DL 35.0-155.0

I know there's no substitute for the proper diet and workout. I'm looking to get back in the gym and build some muscle and I'm looking for something that can help me that doesn't tax the liver. I'll be 57 in 2 days.

Any suggestions?

If you are looking for advise on AAS use for cycling there are other forums on the Internet focused on that particular use of steroids.
 
For a man of your age your Testosterone serum levels look really good; I don't see you as a candidate for Testosterone replacement.

I would like to see your IGF-1 lab. You could be a candidate for HGH if this lab is sub-par.

It's not unusual to see Testosterone serum levels in the middle range like your but IGF-1 low.

Also, you may be able to improve your Testosterone levels depending upon your Estrogen levels; so post that as well.

A comprehensive male workup should include all of the following:

· Total Testosterone
· Bioavailable Testosterone (AKA “Free and Loosely Bound”)
· Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is unavailable)
· SHBG
· DHT (perhaps)
· Estradiol (specify “sensitive” assay for males)
· LH
· FSH
· Prolactin
· Cortisol
· Thyroid Panel (TSH, T4, T3, RT3, antibodies)
· CBC
· Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
· Lipid Profile
· PSA (age dependent)
· IGF-1, IGFBP-3 (if HGH therapy is being considered)

Back to your original question:

I would consider options that will not affect your hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis since you are at a good testosterone blood level for your age (lucky bastard :) )

I do not think you need to run another test for your testosterone panel, LH, FSH, and cortisol (unless you feel tired)
