What can cause testosterone to crash suddenly??

Neil Olson

My testosterone without reason suddenly took a huge dive downwards. Without a change in amount taken or any change in protycol such as type of med or injection site. It went from 600 down to 237 suddenly.

Neil, since you are injecting did you start a new vial of testosterone or was your last blood draw from right after starting TRT and your body was still making testosterone?

I have been on TRT for a few years now. This injection was the last of what I had then a lab test 4 days after injecting. There has been no change in protycol at all. Just all the sudden a crash in T levels

I wonder if maybe this is not a testing error? It might be worth getting a second test just to be sure since you have not changed your protocol at all.

Oh, yeah - I meant to ask if you feel any different. It sounds like you do, so you must be low as the blood test indicated. This is very weird, is it from a compounding pharmacy or a name brand? Not that it should make any difference at all, just curious? If it was winter I would ask if the bottle if Test had crystallized or something, but that is unlikely.

Just normal Cypionate. Nothing in the bottle looked weird

Three possible reasons (assuming you have 100 percent compliance)

1- Lab test error (Very likely)

2- Bad product (Compounded T or pharmaceutical)

3- You are taking a new medication that speeds up liver metabolism of testosterone (Unlikely)

It is weird because my thyroid levels and my good cholesterol crashed as well. I feel horrible.

Post your entire blood work (free T3, free T4, TT and FT, iron, ferritin, etc).

Where are you getting each one (except iron and Vit D)?

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
