My father-in-law died from prostate cancer. A year or two prior to being diagnosed with prostate cancer, he had skin cancer. At the time, the medical community did not believe that skin cancer could spread or be indicative of other cancers in the body. That assumption was revealed to be false too late for my father-in-law. My father who died from lung cancer, also had skin cancer prior to his lung cancer diagnosis. Just making these statements and observations so that people are aware that skin cancer does not exist secluded and alone, but can in fact be a sign that there may be other cancer, sometimes at moderate to advanced stages, happening in the body.
