I went thru a 250 mg test ampule in one week. I know I lost some backfilling syringe cause it was the first time doing it. But I got better at backfilling and on second ampule almost same thing. Noticed I lose some in drawing with a 23 guage needle used to backfill in tip of syringe.

Basically I open ampule draw out 250 mg and then put into a vial. From there I backfill syringe between the 10 and 15 mark about 13 to be specific.

Not sure where the excess test is going or wasted. Is that the right mark trying to do 30mgs at 3 times a week. You figure 1 ampule should last atleast 2 weeks. Maybe Im doin something wrong. any suggestions.

thanks Jd

1 ml= 250 mg esterified testosterone

.5 ml insulin syringe = 50 IU

50 IU = 250 mg esterified testosterone

1 IU = 5 mg esterified T

5 IU= 25 mg esterified T

13 IU= 65 mg esterified T

If you are injecting 13 IU (3 times/week) than you are injecting 195 mg/week.

If you were using a 1 ml (100 units) insulin syringe than you would be injecting half of that amount weekly (97.5 mg) which would be closer to what you thought you were injecting (90 mg/week).

That is what has me confused. I estimated that at 50 mark it would be 125mgs because it says that it is .5ml so 250/.5 would be 125. So I figured at the 25 mark it would be 62.5mg and 12.5 would be 31 and so on.

So I been taking double.Damn. For some reason I don't get these insulin syringes. Getting old I guess didnt think I was that dumb. Not sure if you can explain it better but if you can would appreciate it.. thanks

Try reading that again. .5 ML is .5ML and will always be 50iu on any insuling syringe I've seen. That means 50iu = half an ML = half the 1ML dose of 250mg = 125mg.

OP, it is linear. 250mg / 100iu x 13iu = 32.5mg

Ok. thanks.. so is it 13iu or 6 with these syringes for around 30mgs?

Your right I f***d up!

Had 1 ml stuck in my head as .5 ml (50 IU) would definitely be half of the 1 ml 250 mg dose.

My apologies you were correct.....huge mistake on my part as I should have known better.

1 IU = 2.5 mg

He already stated it in his reply to my post:

No problem mistake helped me understand it better. Will open a new ampule on Monday from there have to see how it goes and where I might be losing some of my testosterone. Hate to waste it.

You are using the 23 gauge to draw the oil from the ampule and than transfer to a vial.....if you are also using a 23 gauge to draw from the vial every time you backfill the insulin syringe you are most likely going to lose some in the tip every time due to dead space.

You would be far better of to use the insulin syringe to draw the 13 IU from the vial than inject as there will be minimal waste using a insulin syringe (fixed needle) since they are low dead space.

I bet your right just losing alot with all the transfers. Ill probably need to get different syringes. I tried to draw thru the 31g syringes and nothing came thru. What would you suggest?

27-29 gauge are the most commonly used.....some do use 30-31.

30-31 can take slightly longer to draw/inject and and the carrier oil used can make a difference as some are more viscous than others.

Warming the vial before drawing can help.

I use .5 ml 28 gauge 1/2

Everyone has their own preference.

Use 27g insulin syringes. I still don’t comprehend how guys rather new to trt get recommended 30g+. It blows my mind really.

I use 30G/0.3cc/8mm and draw Test Cyp, Prop and Suspension in one go wihout any problem. Although here in Europe it is getting a bit cooler then the draw takes a little longer, inb4 we where living in Asia and draw was direct without bubbles.
I am on TRT for 100 days now and have been using 30G´s doing SubQ since I started.

It's fine as long as they are warned that it's for smaller volumes, and you can use a simple auto-loader instead of just waiting there. A 27-gauge needle is like a harpoon in comparison. The tiny 31-gauge needle is much less intimidating to anyone nervous about injections.
