TRT to clomid for men??? Please help

Hi all,

I am a 41 year old male, 185lbs. Been on TRT for about 4 years (.3ML test cyp inj every 4 days).
I have a very healthy life style, eat well, exercise regular, etc.
I do not take any medications other than the test, dont do drugs and rarely drink.

The test has been good for me but I am not a big fan of having to rely on injections for the rest of my life so I have been seriously considering to try to get off TRT and go back to natural if possible, even if that means a lower t level.

Today my doctor (primary) brought up the health risks associated with test injections, thickening blood, heart attacks, etc. He wants to switch me to clomid for men and says that it will take 4-6 weeks of feeling less than my best until the clomid boosts my test enough to feel good again (if it works, he mentioned that after as long as I have been on test, there is the possibility that natural production will not start again - even with the clomid).

I dont know a lot about clomid and from the research I have done this med has side effects as well and long term effects are not well known.

Again, natural is my preference here. I am thinking I need to find a urologist who has specialized experience in the field as opposed to a general practitioner. However I know experience often times is far better than text book knowledge so wanted to ask the people here for suggestions.

Should I do a PCT protocol to try to kick start my natural test?
Follow docs advice and try clomid?
Or go and find a good urologist to assist?

Any help or advise is greatly appreciated!

Blood thickening or erythrocytosis doesn't happen with all guys on TRT and for those where it becomes an issue it is easily managed by donating blood. Cardiovascular issues? This doc is ill-informed... going from low T to mid/high range T increases heart health.

That being said if you want to go off TRT then yeah Clomid could be a good option to take temporarily as a restart attempt. But it will only boost your T production if you have secondary hypogonadism, not primary. And even if it does boost your levels, you may not feel anything from it. (It boosted mine a lot but I felt no better, which is common on this med.)

I tried Clomid and it made me way too emotional (Like PMS). Same with 2 of my friends. I wish I could tolerate it. It did raise mt T from 300 to 727 but I still felt terrible. So far (2 weeks) none of the PMS symptoms on TRT injections. Hoping for better results:)
