Hello - In Nelson's sticky regarding TRT Options dated 2014 he mentions the following:
"Some doctors do not feel comfortable prescribing gels from compounding pharmacies since they worry about quality control. There is also concern that higher concentration gels may induce more DHT conversion, which may cause more prostatic hyperplasia (inflammation) causing urinary flow restrictions especially in older men. Also, higher DHT can cause acne and hair loss."
I was wondering if there's been any resolution surrounding the concern regarding high concentration creams and DHT. I remember reading about multiple forum members both here and on PeakT who mentioned that the 1-2% brand strength didn't really do much and that switching to 20% creams from EmpowerRx really made a difference. Has the concern regarding DHT changed much? I guess this can be something to monitor while on it.
