The neurosteroid pregnenolone promotes degradation of key proteins in the innate immune signaling to suppress inflammation

To "suppress inflammation" is also known as immunosuppression. Immunosuppressive drugs are used only in inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, with the corresponding side effects that the subject becomes more prone to infections and cancers.

This is just to balance out the unrealistic positive bias with which such immunosuppressants and "antioxidants" are presented in the medicine literature nowadays.
