Not DHT, just the T cream.

I don’t know all the scientific facts off top of my head. But I know men After puberty will not see any growth from t cream to penis. However I get a much better flaccid hang on the cream vs injections.

If it would wake the little fella up, I'd try it. Sometimes, my mind is turned on, but my penis isn't. Like there's a disconnect between me and him.

What is your protocol?
Have you tried less and more ?
I don't currently use a cream or gel. I inject .3 ml of T twice a week, and inject 500 ml of HCG twice a week. Seems like a lot of guys here are having good results using a cream on the scrotum or both the cream and injections. I also take 5 mg of Cialis daily

Definitely try T cream on scrotum.

While I injections I feel good, anything sexual related nothing comes close to T cream on scrotum. the orgasm, the erections, sex drive, all of it

Seth, I notice you replied in the recent Finasteride thread saying you have been using Fin for 20 years with no side effects. This disconnect you talk about is very much one of the "side effects" that this horrible drug causes. I have spoken to a number of guys over the years who have suffered this side effect from the use of Propecia, long after DC it.
There are of course other reasons why this occurs too with regard to hormone replacement, the loss of our gonadotropins IMO, being one significant cause.

I have had this feeling on and off in the past as well. I have vastly improved this issue for myself with lowering my dose of T slightly, bi-weekly injections and the addition of Ovidrel (not regular hCG), plus low dose daily Tadalafil, which I see you are also taking.
T cream on the scrotum does sound interesting indeed with regard to the pro-sexual effects it appears to be giving to some men here. It is interesting that this can lead to an apparent significant local increase in DHT levels. In your case this may be thwarted by finasteride blocking the conversion of T into DHT in most of your tissues. Is it testosterone or DHT that is providing the pro-sexual effect in those areas?
It is important to remember that many of testosterone's actions in the body are mediated by DHT. One reason I would never use this medication.

Thank for the advice. Like I mentioned, I have been taking Finasteride for 20 years. The "disconnect" with my penis is a recent thing, like over the last 6 months, and it's intermittent as well. I started taking high blood pressure medicine around the same time that this disconnect started happening and I'm wondering if there is a connection. I'm not dismissing your information on Finasteride, but it seems weird that this would be the cause after two decades of use. My Finasteride dose for hair loss is very low compared to men who take this drug for urinary flow issues with the prostate, which makes me wonder if those men also experience sexual side effects from it.
The HCG I'm using is Pregnyl. Is there a difference between it and Ovidrel?
You also mentioned gonadotropins IMO. Are you referring to immobilization stress?
Lastly, I have been depressed lately. I don't have a partner in my life and often feel very alone. Perhaps this is contributing to it as well.

Sorry, IMO stands for "in my opinion".

It could be that you are one of the lucky ones who can tolerate this drug. However, our body can suddenly not react well to a medication even after taking it for a long period.

While you are taking FIN, it will always be a consideration: is it causing me issues?
We have evolved over hundreds of thousands of years. DHT is not a superfluous hormone. All the hormones in our body are important. The fact that many of testosterone's actions are mediated by DHT, should be enough reason for any male wanting to remain "male" to not take the drug. When you understand how important it was during puberty in order to develop all your male characteristics and sexual organ development, and how important it may be in the maintenance of our sexual organs during adult life, why would anyone risk such an upset to their hormonal milieu?
I am strongly opposed to the use of the drug for cosmetic reasons. I wont hide that. :)
I began to lose my hair in my forties. Owing to all the sexual issues I have had with regard to testosterone and its replacement, I could not risk throwing FIN into the mix and never being sure if that was or was not responsible for causing some of my issues.

I often think of this analogy when it comes to prescribing Propecia. What would you say to a doctor who offered you are a hair loss reversal drug that had the effect of lowering testosterone? I would expect the answer from 99% of males would be a resounding NO! It is the complete lack of understanding that surrounds DHT that makes many of us think, oh I probably don't need as much of that hormone! All the focus is on testosterone as being what makes us male and makes us sexual studs! DHT is essentially part of testosterone and is the stronger component of it.
Enough of my rant on finasteride!

Ovidrel is not quite the same as regular hCG. It is recombinant hCG. Regular hCG is urinary derived and can be subject to batch to batch variations, impurities and can lose potency much faster. Recombinant hCG does not have these issues, it is more stable and consistent, stays potent for over 12 months and already comes prepared as a liquid.
I get none of the estrogenic side effects from it that I previously experienced from Pregnyl.
The effects in the beginning are more subtle compared to regular hCG, but over time they seem to build and remain consistent, this has been my experience with it.

I am sorry you have been feeling depressed of late (Finasteride can cause this, which I am sure you are aware). As you are on TRT: I have been discussing with another member on the forum one of the possible side effects of exogenous T; which is a possible increase in SERT, something I have only recently been aware of. This may have the effect of causing less Seratonin being available in the synapse.
Depending on the individual, this could manifest as a form of depression and or anxiety.
I personally have been feeling these effects, mostly anxiety for many years and I feel this could be a possible cause in my case. I feel TRT can cause a form of sympathetic dominance in the body, which could be related to this neurotransmitter imbalance and have quite varied effects in different men. This could also have quite a negative effect on sexual function; interfering with erectile reliability and even sexual sensation.
Of course as you mention, circumstantial effect on mental well being has a great impact and could be solely responsible for your current mood. However, the above physiological effects could predispose one to not handling certain life situations as well as one may otherwise.

At what point and why did you start taking hormone replacement?

Thank you for your response. I appreciate your viewpoints and personal experience.
I began using TRT about 8 years ago. I was feeling depressed and listless.
I've had been working out regularly for many years, but found it was getting harder and harder to do go. It's like I was getting weaker. I was also starting to put on belly fat, despite exercise and watching my diet. Also, my libido was beginning to wane. When I described this to my doctor, he tested my hormones and found they were on the low side. Not extremely low, but on the low side of normal. So I began taking TRT and Cialis and started feeling much better. Workouts became easier, I began losing belly fat and putting on more muscle and my erections were frequent and strong. I felt so much better. Later, I added in HCG and Anastrozole as my estrogen was too high. I have discontinued the later and seem to be maintaining normal estrogen levels.
When I started to lose my hair, it was sudden and devastating for me. I know many men just accept it, but it threw me into a major state of depression. My dermatologist suggested Propecia and Minoxidil so I stated taking it. My hair loss stopped and within months, it began to grow back in thick and full. I was very happy and my doctor was amazed at how well it was working for me, so I continued to take it and have for over 20 years. I read about the possible side effects, but from what I read, they only occurred in less than 4% of men, so it wasn't like a situation where a high percentage of men had problems. This seemed like a fairly safe bet to me. Like I mentioned, taking Testosterone also causes negative side effects for some men. Nothing is risk free.
I can understand your opposition to using Finasteride, but for men, it wasn't just a cosmetic issue, it was affecting my me from a psychological standpoint. From self esteem to depression. I know a lot of guys suck it up and deal with it, but I doubt any of them are happy about losing their hair.
I still wonder about the blood pressure medicine as a possible factor, as my use of it seems to coincide with the problem. It's not listed as a possible side effect, but the coincidence is concerning.
Curious if you have tried any other drugs or remedies for your own hair loss?

Beyond Testosterone Book by Nelson Vergel
Is this a "dumb question" .....if one has a rx for test cyp, how is it possible to get a secondary scrip for T cream?
Several guys on this forum have indicated that they are using both, so I'm assuming their doctors prescribed them.
