Switching from cream to injections

Hi, just as the title says, yesterday I got my injectable T.
Pretty standard 200mg/ml in organic grapeseed oil.

I've been using lipo cream at 1ml (0.5ml 2x day).
Doctor told me that the new protocol will be 1cc on day one (yesterday)... And .4cc every 5th day.
Since last night I've been feeling a little more "unstable". I feel like my body isn't yet used to the injections.

I'm just trying to figure out if there is an "adjustment period" when switching cream to injections... (I guess it would make sense). For the last two days I felt better. Noticably better. Yesterday I gave myself a shot and today I'm kinda all over the place mentally... Is it to be expected? Should I still use a little cream while switching over?

While that is a big first dose, I don't know you can relate what you're feeling to it. I switched from gel to injections and didn't feel mentally off. I would also ask to do your injections every 3.5 days.

Suggest your doctor has no idea what he/she is doing, SHBG is measured and a protocol is designed around this number. Low SHBG men do better on more frequent dosing, usually every other day or everyday if trying to lower estrogen.

Whenever you start a new protocol you will experience swings for the next 6 weeks until your blood testosterone reaches a stable state, how you feel within this time is irrelevant. The majority of men inject doses twice weekly, lower SHBG men more frequent. Otherwise levels will be swinging for the foreseeable future and you will experience a hormonal roller coaster.

You can't swap back and forth between using the cream and injections, otherwise you will never reach a balance and you will always be on a hormonal roller coaster.

Honestly, why would you even reply with something like that? Did you even read my question? I didn't start a new protocol nor am I switching "back and forth". Not to mention, unlike my doctor you have no idea what my SHBG number is, because it has nothing to do with my question. Dissing someone's doctor is like a trend here, huh?

Anyway, how I feel within six weeks is extremely relevant considering it's been many weeks while I'm adjusting to the treatment. Please try to be a little bit more understanding of beginners and people who do not have your level of "expertise". You could have made your point without being so condescending.

I would have to agree, 200 mg injection of testosterone is a very high starting dose. Normal starting dose would be 50 mg every three and a half days. When I first started trt I injected 70 mg of testosterone cypionate along with 500 IU of HCG twice a week. I did feel awesome right from the start.

Only the first dose was higher. If I'm converting the numbers correctly, 0.4cc every 5 days seems like a good protocol (generally speaking). I can ask about about more frequent administration and smaller dosage...
Just curious how does 3.5 days work? One day you'd inject say at 8 PM, while next time you'd inject at 8 AM?

Thanks for your help!

Honestly I see nothing wrong with your protocol including the front loading he is doing to get your numbers stabilized faster. Every 5 days is just less common of a protocol on this forum. You are going to know if that works for you in 6-8 weeks. I’d go along with the doctor. You do need e2 and shbg values tested on your own if the dr doesn’t do it. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. Reading everything I can and considering my situation and extremely low T numbers and slightly elevated E2, I too think my doctor is doing the right thing.
At least he explains all of his decisions in detail and gives me plenty of time and information to consider alternatives and provide feedback. If anything he listens to me more than he probably should :) ..

For example he wasn't all that happy to give me AI, but I kept insisting that I need it and felt better when I took a few pills at the very beginning of my therapy back in May (about 5 months ago). This time around my response to it was rather negative.

I think it's very important to have a doctor who will work with you to explain and customize the protocol to your specific needs. Our physiology is different our situations and needs are different. I actually can't imagine that one size fits all is a possibility when it comes to something as complex as TRT. Just thinking out loud.

Cheers.

Might as well share my numbers:

Free Test = 36 (Range 46.0-224.0 pg/mL)
SHBG = 76 (Range 10-50 nmol/L)
Bio Test = 76 (Range 110.0-575.0 ng/dL)
Estradiol = 32 (Range < OR = 29 pg/mL)
