Statins, cholesterol reduction, TRT and muscle building ?

A question for the group: I have been trying to research and not finding an answer to this question : TRT is supposed to increase muscle protein synthesis (mps) and aid in muscle building. Statins reduce cholesterol. Does taking statins with TRT reduce the positive muscle ? Cholesterol is required to (1) create sex hormones [not an issue if your on TRT] but also to (2) build cell walls in tissues, e.g. Muscle. Statins also have a negative effect on muscle tissue, particularly with exercise. So where are we on statins, TRT, mps, preventing sarcopenia as well as just general negative effects on bodybuilding ?

FWIW - I know a guy at work that was on such a heavy dose of statins that in addition to muscle pain, he was literally losing his memory to the point of forgetting things from the day before. His doc made some adjustments (I don't know the details, he moved away soon after that) but it was truly unsettling to see him - it was almost like he was getting early-onset Alzheimer's there for awhile. This is probably an extreme outlier example that is unlikely to happen to many folks, but scary none the less and reinforces the desire never to get on statin drugs.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
