I’m 47 yr old and was diagnosed low T 12 years ago, even though I’ve been hovering around 350 for a long time I’ve always got by so waited until now.
I started off using test cypionate daily micro dose equal to 140mg per week.
The day I started I experienced ectopic beats, lots of them.
I put them down to the fact I had recently re-started jogging after a layoff, I didn’t think the test could be a factor from day one.
After 3 weeks of this I contacted my clinic and spoke to the doctor who explained the test could very well be a factor and lowering my dose may help, I opted to go down to 100mg per week, the doctor said that it was a bit “drastic” but still I had read that having lower SHBG (24) may indicate a lower dose requirement. Daily injections still, by my own choosing.
The same day I went to the doctors and asked for some beta blockers which they gave me, helped massively as along with the palpitations came a raised HR and wasn’t pleasant.
Last 2 days I’ve been really unwell, my resting heart rate has climbed from low 60’s to low 80’s, I think perhaps there are other factors at play which are pouring fuel on the fire, rising body temp indicating maybe something viral.
I did go to the hospital, had a blood draw and my HCT was 46%, roughly unchanged from previous tests.
So really what I would like to know, has anyone experienced heart “stress” when starting trt?
Can lowering my dose the way I did have an impact?
Is 100mg per week an acceptable/effective starting dose? I have read/heard opinions both fir and against, and my own trt doctor seemed to think it may not be ideal.
Much appreciated
Paul
