SHBG question?

Total testosterone: 251 ref range: 241-827
Free testosterone: 4.7 ref range: 8.7-25.1
Is there a way to predict or come close to knowing what SHBG is from these two numbers?
I am going to a GP who didn't test SHBG before starting trt. I'm having it tested in 2 weeks which will be 6 weeks into therapy so I'll know then. I'd like input on if it's possible to come close to knowing the value of SHBG if you know free and total testosterone. Thanks

If I type in TOTAL TESTOSTERONE 251ng/dL and ALBUMIN is already pre set at 4.3 g/dL and than try out different values in SHBG ...............35 nmol/L ends up giving value of FREE TESTOSTERONE 4.7ng/dL which is 1.87% and you will also see your BIOAVAILABLE number assuming reference values are correct. Hope this helps.

Not really, Free is typically 2% of total so your numbers are inline with eachother. SHBG usually lowers with T treatment. It's more important to diagnose why your T is low rather than just say it's low I need TRT. Obesity, alcohol use, and a sedentary lifestyle contribute as much to low T as any other possible reason.

Interesting way to get there thru the back door as it were, It's probably close enough but I wouldn't adjust my protocol based on this.

For future reference, you can pull your own tests at Discountedlabs.com. If your doctor refuses to order a test, despite the fact that you will pay for it, you should either self-test or find a new doctor.
