Sediment in vitb12 methylcobalamin for injection

The compounding pharmacy I get my methylcobalamin for injection from ships it in individual dose insulin syringes. I noticed in the last batch what looks like some sort of sediment in the syringes, it is iridescent when held under a light. The ingredients are listed as methylcobalamin and salt (0.9%). I called the pharmacy and they had me ship the syringes back. I got a new batch, and although there is much less of this sediment, there is still some.

Has anyone else experienced this?

There were 2 out of the 20 in the original batch without any sediment. In the new batch at least half don't have any and the other half only have a trace amount, barely discernible.

it is likely the salts...you may be able to hold a syringe under hot water for a couple minutes, shake and it will dissolve. But if you are already getting new ones, no need to bother.

That should work...but it would make me wonder about the pharmacy's standards. Good luck.

Agreed. Unless it was shipped though some very cold weather as that can often cause issues like that.
