Ruled out Peyronies

[EDIT: A slightly more intensive online search shows me that my urologist really did the bare minimum. I'm definitely going elsewhere for a second opinion.]

On rare occasions my penis becomes strangely misshapen. It happened recently and I video-recorded it and showed it to my urologist today. He identified it as hourglass-shaped, and I see from an online search that it is indeed the name of a legitimate condition. He asked me whether my erections curved to one side, and I showed him another video proving that yes they do.

He said that I might have Peyronie's, and he spent some time massaging my penis, looking for any hard deposits. He could not find any, and he ruled out Peyronie's. I asked him about an MRI, and he said that he has never sent anyone for a penis MRI. He said that since he could not feel any hardness, an MRI would not show anything.

My penis was at its smallest while with him, especially while he was rubbing it, and I wonder if better blood flow might've given him "more to work with" as far as finding evidence of Peyronies. He said that flaccid was better than erect, which I understand, but even flaccid I have a lot more to offer than what I put in front of him today. He assured me that I don't have Peyronie's, but I had at least two inches in the tank, so I wonder.

(And is it Peyronie disease or Peyronie's disease? I'm seeing it written both ways?)

I got this when my hematocrit, hemoglobin were elevated and especially while supplementing iron. As these markers come down, lower ferritin, iron, the hourglass penis disappear.

I would wake up, penis is normal, take the iron -> hourglass shaped penis within 10-15 minutes and would hook to the left like a half bent candy cane.

Never mind I was on TRT for 7 years and misdiagnosed with low-T. 100-200 ng/dL total testosterone, free testosterone <2.0 ng/dL is normal for me.

Cialis also caused my penis to look like an over inflated balloon when not erect.

One way to troubleshoot this is go donate blood and find out for yourself.

Interesting. Taking your experience into account, and the fact that I only experience it on occasion, begs two questions.

1) What various factors can cause it to flare up?

2) Is there an underlying original cause?

I had acute trauma 34 years ago when a female landed on my penis with her butt cheek instead of her vagina. It was shocking, but it didn't hurt that much and my penis showed no signs of damage. We finished the act and continued to see each other every few days, and I didn't notice any decrease in rigidity, ability, sensitivity, etc. So I just blew a sigh of relief and considered myself lucky.

Factors in my life changed shortly after that incident, and as a result I stopped having random sexual trysts. Subsequently I felt myself become more and more desexualized. Random erections stopped. Spontaneous erections were fewer and farther between. My loins were no longer as relaxed and I became inhibited. I chalked it all up to the change in my lifestyle, but now I wonder if the trauma played a part.

I'll ask, but I understand if you don't want to answer. Have you ever experienced any direct trauma to your penis?

I texted my uro and asked him if there was at least the possibility that an MRI or ultrasound could find something his hand couldn't. He said that there is the possibility that an erection ultrasound could find something.

He said they used to do them in office, whereby they would inject Trimix and then perform the ultrasound. He said they finally stopped because insurance didn't cover it AND too many men were suffering from priapism. He assured me he would ask the head of the office for permission for me to get one, and that he would let me know on Monday or Tuesday.

It really seems weird that priapism was a reason for stopping, when they are still teaching men (including me the other day) how to inject Trimix in the office. But I guess the urologists tended to overdose for the ultrasound, whereas they underdose for the Trimix lessons. It seems like an easy fix would be to just be more conservative when dosing for the ultrasound, but maybe there are a lot of costs involved and therefore they don't want to play trial-and-error on ultrasound day.
