Ran out of T before end of month

Hi,

3 weeks ago I started T cyp injections 50mg twice a week. Since I live in NY, testosterone is a controlled substance and the pharmacy couldn't give me more than a month's supply. This morning was the first injection of the 4th week, and I didn't get my full dose (.15 ml instead of .25 ml). Also, now I don't have my dose for Friday. I know that I didn't give myself too much in earlier doses, but I did lose a bit one day trying to remove an air bubble in the syringe.

My question is--can I ask my doctor to prescribe a 10-ml vial instead of two 1-ml vials and then fill the prescription in Connecticut and take it back home to NY? Is this legal? Or will I have to battle with running out of T every month before i'm supposed to?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Phil

The answer is yes, you can.

By the way, if you use an insulin syringe you will have less waste of testosterone.

Call the folks of EmpowerRxPharmacy.com when you have the new prescription. They can send you 10 cc's if your doctor specifies it.

Thank you, Nelson. My testosterone is covered under my health insurance. Do you know if it will still be covered if I use the compounding pharmacy you recommended in your reply?

Thanks again!

First it is pretty cheap at CVS I pay $25 for 2 x 1ML or 400MG my monthly intake.

Secondly Nelson is right about the insulin syringe I find I generally get an extra dose out of the two bottles each month as they overfill the bottles anticipating some waste.

Third and I believe I'm right about this since this is not an intravenous injection a small air bubble is not that big a deal.

And finally my pharmacist told me that the issue with the 10ML vial when you are taking relatively small doses is ripping the neoprene top and then having small chunks fall into the Test. I don't know though as MA is the same as NY in how strict the laws are.

Your health plan who knows since no two are alike
