Pursued TRT through a so called hormone specialist as my physician was unwilling to treat a low-normal TT/FT

Spent almost $600 for consultation/follow up and complete gamut of blood work to be started on a measly 10 mg of topical cream.

How is this even legal or allowed. If a male naturally produces roughly 5-7 mg of testosterone daily and the absorption of any topica (gel/cream) whether big pharma or compounded is roughly10% how could a doctor even fathom that dose of 10 mg which would be 1mg absorbed logically raise testosterone levels?

Bio-identical hormone specialist should not even be allowed to practice. IT IS A BIG SCAM and I think too many people are being mislead!

I live in Canada, not sure where to turn next regarding pursuing legitimate T-therapy, furious I am!

I know, living in Canada, that obtaining quality, cutting-edge TRT can be a challenge. Many of the bio-identical, hormone practices favour topicals over shots, and that is to the patient's disadvantage. Perhaps you should consider a referral to the Koffler Centre at Mt. Sinai in Toronto. I know that Dr. Ethan Grober https://www.mountsinai.on.ca/care/mkuwc/staff/dr-ethan-grober trained under Larry Lipshultz at Baylor University in Houston. Miguel Llano https://www.mountsinai.on.ca/care/mkuwc/staff/dr-miguel-llano is on staff there as well. I know Dr. Llano slightly, but have not consulted him. I will message you some other ideas.

It can be a challenge finding a good doc here in the states also, as so many of us have experienced.

Such a broad generalization. Maybe he just got a bad doctor.

1.25 Euros (one point twenty-five Euros. Approx one dollar). This is what I pay for 500mg of test every month (125mg a week), through socialized health care here in Spain.

Pointing out that our specifically Canadian and UK members have serious problems, but denial of (adequate) care and the ability to get standard tests because of socialized care and thus lack the freedom (for now) in the States of being able to find the care they need without Governmental interference. Stating that you're fellow citizens are all paying high taxes to help pay for your meds, as nothing is free and Government has nothing that it doesn't first take from a citizen, makes you feel good, so be it.

As an entrepreneur running my own business I pay plenty of taxes to take advantage of the discount for my own needs/meds and also to make sure that other people, with lesser incomes, can still have access to a pretty good public health care system.

And getting back to the OP, having to spend 600$ on TRT sounds more like a private clinic than public system.

Your physician is being cautious. How do you feel on the cream? Have your symptoms gotten better?
