Phasing Off Androgel

Need some help. I’ve been taking androgel for quite awhile (over a year) and it’s not working. Testosterone is now lower and PSA is up. Until I can see a urologist, i want to get off the androgel. I already struggle with anxiety, so don’t want more of it if it’s possible to get worse when quitting cold turkey. Since my testesterone is lower and it didnt work, can i just quit, or should i phase off?

Thanks.

Just stop. You're probably no better off than you were before treatment. Since you're not absorbing the gells, I doubt you'll even notice a difference stopping.

You might try Jatenzo, an oral T gel capsule taken twice daily instead of injections.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
