I’m having trouble getting TRT from my pcp with total test levels sub 250….aside from it being aggravating because of how crappy I feel I finally got her to give me a referral to an endocrinologist. Unfortunately their closest available appointment isn’t until mid December. Has anyone ever had any experience doing online trt through any of those companies than switching to a doctor….is this a no no in the doctors point of view? This depression and anxiety and lack of motivation is starting to become very real, I need my life back.

I find endos tend to not be up to date on good treatment protocols and get in the way of recovery by their complete lack of knowledge.

On average the patient is more informed than the sick care doctors directing treatment, the private doctors running cash businesses tend to be more knowledgeable.

Well the only problem here is that my insurance covers trt with a pcp or specialist.
A urologist is your best option if you must go through insurance. There are some endos who specialize in reproductive health / fertility, but most of them primarily treat diabetes and thyroid disease so that’s what they’re most familiar with.

Ok I’m still looking to see if anyone has any experience switching from online doctors to someone else….mainly because at that point my bloodwork will be normal

If you do find a doctor that knows what they're doing you'll be considered very lucky as this is uncommon.

If you get the diagnosis and the TRT script at least you can direct your own treatment (provided your endo doesn't start you out on a super low dose) based on the feedback you get right here which is the most common scenario.

The worst case scenario would be you wait till mid December to see this endocrinologist and he isn't experienced enough to direct your treatment, then you book another appointment and months later you come to the conclusion this new doctor is no better than the last one and now your halfway into 2022 and still feeling the same as you do now.

Well to be considered for TRT and diagnosed with low-T you need to have two blood tests showing <300, so if you go private to get TRT and later decide to get TRT via insurance, you would probably have to stop the TRT and prove that you qualify for treatment.

If you start TRT, the LH and FSH will be suppressed indicating you are on exogenous testosterone and doctors will know you're on TRT and no longer natty.

I have two blood tests one from Hone health that shows 246 then one from my primary care that shows 270….primary care told me that dispute my symptoms my levels are within normal range and I know they’re not…the particular endocrinologist I’m going to see does work with a friend of mine for try and he likes him a lot
