NSAIDs Raise the Risk of Heaart Attack

Just reminding folks that it's well established that NSAIDs are not innocuous drugs. They raise the risk of heart attack and should only be used on doctor's advice.

Ibuprofen should not be sold over the counter, researchers have said after discovering it increases the risk of cardiac arrest by 31 per cent. The common painkiller, currently available in supermarkets and corner shops, is a type of medicine known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Researchers from the University of Copenhagen found other NSAIDs, such as diclofenac, present an even greater risk of cardiac arrest – when the heart suddenly stops pumping blood around the body.
