Nocturnal Erection Duration and Penile Damage?

Is there a chance that having prolonged nocturnal erections might lead to penile tissue damage?

I have been doing a ton aerobic work lately and using citrulline and daily Cialis, and the last two nights I have been waking up with crazy hard erections that hurt a bit, even after going down, hours into the next day.

My doctor says I am being crazy and to only worry if I have an erection for more than 4 hours, but I am never sure if these erections only last 30min or 3 hours, because I am asleep.

I have wondered this as well... I also had a dream about this weekend:confused:. Sometimes I wake up at 2 in the morning hard as a rock and then at 6 in the morning and nothing has changed.. Could this create any issues??

If a man is having nocturnal erections, they typically occur multiple times during the course of the night. Do yours resolve within a reasonable time upon awakening?

This is something I also think about, I almost always wake up with morning wood and wonder how long have I had this.

Same here, for me L-citrulline and daily cialis is strong combo. The nocturnal erections kind of disturb my sleep. Anyway once I get up in the morning it goes down.

Mine will subside if I get up and walk around, but it may take awhile. Now, I can lose it in 15 seconds if I am actually trying to have sex and think about NOT losing an erection. Psychological ED is a *****.

Nonetheless, it is not whether I can lose it or not upon awaking, it is the question of what is too long before damage occurs. I have not found references about what is magical about 4 hours vs 2 hours vs 6 with regard to tissue injury.

My urologist told me that "the average man" (whoever he is) has three to five nocturnal erections per night. Typically lasting no longer than 40 minutes.

I am not having any or at least they aren't waking me up.....does that mean something is off? Mine isn't real rock hard in the morning either and I use daily cialis and citrulline.

The important question is whether you have desired erectile function when you want it, for either sex or masturbation.
