Last April in 2013, I started having sensitivity in the Left nipple area and got some blood work done. Ended up getting a Biopsy of the nipple area and was diagnosed with Gyno. Then had a Biopsy done as well with negative results for any tumor. Then had an MRI of the brain done in July because my LH and FSH levels were HIGH. That too came back negative for any tumor of the pituitary gland. So, my Endo has just had me getting blood work to monitor the FSH and LH that continue to rise as you see in my chart. The Testosterone levels keep rising as well and she was concerned that maybe the MRI didn't pickup on something in the original scan. This last blood done this month, I completely came off all supplements, none for 30 days. Normally take the basics of fish oil, D-aspartic Acid, Multi mineral, B-complex, Glutamine, etc. No steroids, no Prohormones.

I originally requested a Etradiol, Sensitive test last year and she would only do the Estrogen total the last 3 times.

A little about myself, I am aged 49, weigh around 195 lbs. and compete at around 175 lbs in natural bodybuilding. My weight has stayed constant for the past year, but will say, it has been a little harder trying to lean out more so than usual. Other than the lump in my breast that seems like it is larger, I feel pretty good. Does anyone have any thoughts with my bloodwork as to why Testosterone continues to rise. SHBG levels continues to stay high was well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an appointment with her tomorrow and at this point, I am ready to go to someone new because she hasn't given me any options.....just keeps saying lets do more bloodwork in 3 months and continue to follow me.

Endo today at my appt wants me to do another MRI......here we go again. Even though FSH and LH continues to rise and my testosterone does as well....she wants another MRI even though I have had one that was negative for a tumor. Very frustrating.

Truly sorry you are going through this. I agree with the decision to refer for another MRI. IMO, there's got to be something abnormally taking place in the region of the anterior pituitary. If your testosterone were in the tank then it would make sense to review the testicular region, but your Leydigs are obviously responding in a normal manner with the feedback loop, and it's the other end at the HPTA that's not going down when serum is up. Suspect that some sort of adenoma might have been overlooked on the first round. Keep us posted please. Best of luck!

Chris

Thanks Chris.....totally agree that something is amiss. After the first MRI last year, she said that if the numbers continued to climb along with my testosterone....that is usually an indicator of a tumor of some sort and that maybe the first one overlooked something. Not news I wanted to hear, but something I have suspected all along. She has referred me to a Pituitary Specialist in that field and to do the MRI in the coming weeks, so hopefully I will get some answers soon after a long 12 months of not knowing. Thanks again for your input...as it is very helpful. This board is an invaluable source during times like this.

Flex, in your PM to me you stated you had a testicular injury a few years ago and that the teste in question has gotten smaller and still has pain.

Did you discuss this with your Doctor?

Testicular injuries will and can play havoc on the HPT Axis and could be a contributing factor.

I don't see how your vasectomy could be a factor.

I agree that you need another MRI. Sometime these adenomas can be so small that an MRI can't pick them up.

The good news is that they are almost always benign and can be controlled with meds.

In the mean time I hope you're in the gym throwing some weights around to take advantage of those serum levels:)
