Had some fitness test ran last Thursday (BODPOD stuff). One was "resting metabolic rate". I was verrrrry low. I am 5'9'' so I am not a small person. As I understand the basic concept, if I sat around on a couch and watched soap's on T.V. all day I could not more than 1400 Cals without gaining weight. Is a LOW resting metabolic rate indicative of any issues that I need to look into closer? Now I know why I gain weight just walking past a cake:) And why it is hard for me to loose weight....

On thyroid meds now.
Lean I aint:)
Starting expanded exercise next week. Will add in 3 hrs a week of recumbent bike at the gym along with additional strength training 3 or 4 times a week.
Yeppers..... Carb cutting to start on Monday:)

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
