If you have the typical digestive symptoms (nausea, belching, acid reflex etc) or other vague unexplained symptoms (fatigue, depression, low immune system) that may be related to H. Pylori, it is a good idea to test. About 50% of the population are infected but many are asymptomatic carriers.

You can test for H. Pylori with a stool antigen test (typically covered by insurance, qualitative result - only positive or negative) at your doctor's office or a comprehensive stool PCR test like GI - MAP (typically not covered by insurance except Medicare, quantitative result and detects many other digestive problems and pathogens, about $350 - $400).
