Increase trt dose with age?

I’ve been on 100mg/week for the past decade or so. My labs have always been fairly consistent. I’m usually around 450 at my trough. However last week my doctor called me because my labs came back at 270. I usually do my bloodwork the day of my injection but this time I had to wait an extra day (so 8 days between injections).
My question is can my levels drop that much waiting 1 extra day between injections?
It also had me wondering if anyone has had to increase their trt dose as they age?

TRT isn’t a set and forget therapy, your hormone levels will still fluctuate even though your dosage hasn’t changed.

Changing brands of testosterone can be the reason.

The extra day before measuring is undoubtedly a factor, but can't explain that much of a difference. Other possible contributors: Lab error, falling SHBG, product mis-dosing, change in the rate of absorption — to name a few. I'd put changes in metabolism pretty low on the list, and the usual effect of aging is the opposite: metabolism slows, which in turn increases free and total testosterone.

My two cents I would just inject 50 mg. of testosterone along with 500 IU of HCG twice a week in the same syringe.

After 12 weeks have Labs on injection day before you inject.

Vince when you inject twice a week I imagine your trough would be much higher than if you injected once a week?
How would doctors standardize this because while still injecting 100 mg/week the twice inject number would have a much higher reading.

Yes less peaks and valleys. I do daily injections with testosterone and every third day with HCG.

i definitely do better on more. current protocol is 30mg Tprop daily with 1000IU HCG 3x week. at 120mg T /week i felt like shit. with my current protocol i feel great and my libido is plainly insane, to the point where my dick can not keep up with my drive. even cialis/viagra won't help just makes me sore

How much did your hematocrit increase?

Wow! That’s a big drop for a day later., I microdose so 3x a week and feel that works fantastic for me., I’d suggest just split it in 2 for the week if you haven’t tried that., insulin needle is painless. I will say I’ve been on trt for 7 yrs now and my last lab was down a bit.. but still at the upper end of the range.. my range is usually at the top or slightly over upper range. Hope this helps a little

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
