How To Pick A Good TRT Doctor

I’m going to see a Dr Tuesday about getting put on TRT.

I realize I most likely will get put on TRT but don’t want to go with just the first doc willing to write a script.

What kind of questions would you ask you a doctor to determine whether or not they know their shit?

Here are some red flags I’ll be looking out for.

1) Doesn’t test estrogen levels
2) Recommends injecting once ever 2 weeks or more. (Twice a week is ideal for stable bloods but once a week I could live with maybe)

Any other red flags to look out for?

There is a write up on this. Do a search for "How to Find a Good Doctor that Prescribes Testosterone HCG and Anastrozole".

I'm new here too so I can't post links yet.

If he doesn't believe is testing for SHBG you can stop from asking any further questions, if yes please continue.

Does the doctor prescribe HCG with a TRT protocol?

Does he provide an AI if high E2 symptoms are present?

What ranges does he target?

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
