High prolactin last blood test

I had blood drawn (wasn't fasted because they told me initially I didn't need to fast for prolactin test). My prolactin was 16.7 ng/dl (4-15.2 being normal). Doctor prescribed caber but it's really expensive from the compounding pharmacy. Would using caber be overkill? Any other alternatives?

I think that unless your prolactin is over at least 50, you are lactating, and/or have been found to have a pituitary tumor, cabergoline has no place in TRT or ED.

Bringing your prolactin down too much can affect your immune function.

Gene loves cabergoline but he also takes a bunch of stuff so our experience is not the same.

I wouldn't treat a high PRL level because of one test, I'd rather see it verified on another test. Too, having had sex/orgasm/etc in the 24hrs prior to a PRL test possibly produce an elevated result.

If you take a proton pump inhibitor that could be the cause. Look at any med you take for possible cause.
