High Hemocrit - How Long to Lower

My t-mill had me on a ridiculouse dose of 300mg. per week. While this steroid dose made me feel pretty good, it ground to a halt with my regular doctor visit on Friday. My hemocrit level was 55.2 so he prescribed stopping TRT for 4 weeks and retesting. I am already in the process of switching over to Defy but I want to know how fast I can expect the hemocrit to come down once I stop injections.

I just looked at my CBC results from when I was on 200mg every 14 days and now 100mg split 4 ways, RBC dropped from 46% to 45.2% in a short amount of time.

In my experience of being way to high, without phlebotomies it will take a few months. Have yoir dr write you a script for theraputic phlebotomies at red cross. It will cost you about $60/ trip, but you will come down between 2-3 points each time. Be aware this is a slow moving process, the red cross that is. It may tale 3-4 weeks to actually get into have the procedure done. I doubt if anybody will take yoir blood for normal donation being that high. They will ne worried you have hemochromtosis, or polycemia. In th emean time start fish oil amd baby asprin

Donating one pint of blood will generally lower hemocrit by about 3 percent. I would donate very 8 weeks until your HCT is in good range.

I did donate 3 weeks ago on my own accord because of what I learned here. First finger prick registered 20.2 hemoglobin so attendant had someone do it again and they got 18.4 so they let me donate. Therefore, I can't do another whole blood donation until December.
