Soon-to-be 56 y.o. male, been on TRT approximately 8 years or so, 6 ft 2, 330 lbs, former weight lifter, no anabolic history, severely overtrained prior to going on trt. My trt has mainly consisted of treatment by a primary care doctor with a couple frustrating entanglements with urologists along the way. I've been put on oral test, gels, creams, and injectables. Currently in the process of switching my protocol from 200 mg test cypionate IM to smaller amounts injected SQ to see if I can lower my E2 levels (borderline high normal, no AI at this time but that may change). I have been following Dr Crisler's work and have been lurking around all the establshed trt forums to educate myself in an effort to improve my trt experience which has been nothing to write home about. I stumbled upon ExcelMale and am impressed with the knowledge and attitude I've seen. I've already learned some things that may help me in my journey. I've downloaded Mr. Vergel's book and taken advantage of DiscountedLabs already and look forward to learning from everyone. I hope to contribute based on my experience and anecdotal evidence eventually but will mostly look and learn. Glad I found this forum.

Mark.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
