i guys. Little about me. Male 35. Currently sitting at 189 pounds 5’7”. 32” jeans wearing large shirts. Since 2022 I’ve lost a total of 130 pounds. 100 of that strictly through diet and exercise. Last 30 came from retatrutide. I do 6mg a week of that.

Feel pretty good overall but thought at my age why not get a blood tower to see where my testosterone sits. Well results are in. I’m at 583 total and 63 free. I’m wondering if this low free number would be worth hoping on TRT of some sort. I do have slumps throughout the week of fatigue but other than that everything else seems to be ok I.e. libido and mood. Just wanted to drop in to learn what I can.

It's important to have a good idea of free testosterone. Many of the existing tests are inaccurate and even use different scales. Which lab and which test did you use to obtain that figure of 63? What is the normal range? Going by total testosterone alone, TRT would be inadvisable. Also, if libido and sexual function are ok then go by the phrase, "If it's not broken then don't fix it." TRT is much more complicated than just "adding in" some testosterone. Your natural production gets suppressed, which interferes with many other hormones. If you feel you have to experiment with testosterone, then do it in a relatively safe way by trying one of the nasal gel products, such as Natesto. If it doesn't do much for you then you'll know that testosterone is probably not the answer.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
