Hello to all,
First, a thank you to Nelson and the many others who've contributed to the Facebook group and to this site. As someone new to the world of TRT, the discussions have been educational.
I'm a male, 56, married for 37 years, with one son and one grandson. And I'm willing to put myself forward as the poster child for low testosterone. I had the fatigue, the falling asleep after dinner, depression, the fog, difficulty at work, grumpy-old-man syndrome, ED, and what another poster so eloquently described as a "Wile E. Coyote like anvil drop in sexual desire and performance." All of this came up on me slowly, quietly and took me out and away. My wife finally got me up and to my DO, and after a fairly emotional discussion, she gave in and tested me. Total T: 187. I've read postings with lower, but I can't imagine what that must have been like. 187 was low enough for me.
After arguing with my insurance company about "Medical Necessity," I went out-of-pocket for Androgel. After a month, I feel like I'm 35 again (with the libido I had at 19). I'm telling my insurer to sod off, and today started with a private anti-aging clinic. Expensive, yes, but my wife says that she's not giving up having the old me back, and to tell the truth, I wouldn't go back either.
Anyway, hello to all, thanks for the discussions, and I look forward to perhaps posting instead of just lurking as I learn about my response to TRT,
