i went through the same thing and everything is going to check out fine. You're on too high of a dose. What's your doctors number I'll call him for you!

Once I get my wind back, we'll start again with a lighter approach. Right now I can't walk across a parking lot without being completely out of breath so I need to resolve that first

Let's make sure you understand first that there are very few endocrinologist that will recommend you being on TRT. I have seen a few in different states and all of them recommend that I stop TRT. After I explain how I felt before and how I feel after being on then they at least attempt to understand.
As for the heart palpultations, have you had them prior to starting TRT? If you are experiencing shortness of breath like you are describing then TRT may be a problem. I have had heart palpitations my entire life since as young as I can remember. Often times laying up for hours at night staring at the ceiling counting my heart beats. From my experience they will not go away while on TRT. I definetly agree with TIMK that lowering your dose will help significantly. I was on 200mg/wk for years (once weekly). The first few days after my shot my palpitations would be terrible and I would need melatonin or some sort of sleep agent to fall asleep, then they would taper off the rest of the week. I accepted it because I felt so much better during the day. I have lowered my dosage to 140mg/week and they are not as bad immediately after the shot. However they are still there. Mine also correlates to my estrogen level. When my estrogen gets high then my palpitations are much worse. Hope this helps.

Jetspider, thanks for the reply. I've never experienced heart palpitations prior to the trt. This endocrinologist appears to be supportive of trt but he is waiting on my body to get to its normal level, test my blood and then determine whether I have primary or secondary hypogonadism. I'm currently off of the androgel and it took 5 days but my breathing is back to normal. I feel like crap, very tired, headache daily and no sign of an erection this week. 6 more days until I can have blood work done.

hello again.....i cant believe im back here... after 2 amazing years on TRT , i have hit a really rough patch, also with HEART PALPS and high Heart rate. Long story short as possible. in 2015 i started with androgel 1.62% it got my numbers up ...but then medicaid NJ stopped covering it, and gave me that garbage by perrigo parma the 12.5mgs pump shit. i was on 4 pumps a day at the time 2015...

my levels dropped to under 200 of Total test. the beginning of 2016 I started the Injection of Test cyp. 100mg a week. and my life changed amazingly, i even got off my antidepressants. so to jump to now, march 1st 2018 i did my usualy 100mg Injection and 15 minutes later my BP was 135/114 heart rate was like 134 ...i did do this injection at night. but that wasnt the first time... so i thought i was having a heart attack i called 911

after a few hours and a full blood pan. chest exray and ekg. and a very large IV dose of ativan and Versed I calmed down. but that scared the shit out of me so i stopped everything cold turkey.

since then i took no T. until march 14. 2 weeks after my last injection. the last thing i was worried about at the momnet was my **** . i thought it was the end. 3 more trips within the 2 weeks to the ER cuz of the same feeling. NOt as high but close....here I am now back on the crappy generic androgel by perrigo jumped down from 100mg IM weekly , to now 25mg a day of the gel....

i want to inject something even like 25mg. so badly because deep down i know these gels suck. but im so scared after almost thinkng i was going to die. and those numbers were HIGH. and it felt like i was having a heart attack.....and yes my father died from one at age 46 . im 32....

But I have a doctor who knows nothing about this and cannot find anyone in my plan because its medicaid and I am not working. I went to a Cardiologist and am being put on a 30 day heart monitor which should come today. :(

my numbers were very good, but high, i will list them all... im am so lost and confused. if this has anything to do with the TRT ? will the gel even help at all? im so emotional i feel like a 50 year old woman crying all day its so bad. but im so sorried about my heart .

sorry this is long , lastly then i will post my labs . I also am not able to sleep at night due to unbelievable skin crawling, pins and needles and chills threw my body arms legs everywhere, clueless? any insite would be helpful.

Just an update for those who commented to this post. Once I stopped androgel and returned to my normal levels, we retested my blood to find that my free testosterone was at a 6 first thing in the morning. Doctor started me on 50mg of T injections per week and wow I feel so much better. No shortness of breath or heart palpitations. I don't know why I have such a reaction to the gel and not the injection but according to the doctor, I'm not the only case. I won't know what my current levels are for a while but really don't care as long as I keep feeling good. Thanks to all that gave advice.
