Got to disagree. This may be your experience, but it is not the norm. You have to realize that, on a forum like this, guys are posting because they are having problems and are trying to get some answers. So, you can get the opinion that everybody has problems. There are many variables, especially with anything involving sex. The sexual response is easily influenced by so many factors, so TRT is not going to be the make or break factor. If you once were functioning well in a solid relationship, then it can work pretty easily. If you believe that you are going to be some chick magnet stud on the dating scene, you may be disappointed. My MD told me that it will “probably not” get erections back without pde5s and he was right. I was not disappointed because he was honest. If you think TRT is the panacea for a good sex life, good luck with that. It takes a lot more than that. How many guys with problems are on gels or patches? It doesn't seem they are as effective as injections. How many guys are on HCG and an AI right from the start? Are these needed as much as they are prescribed? More things to create problems right? So maybe it's not TRT that's the problem. And, what other meds are guys on? If it is a psychotropic med, especially an SSRI or a benzodiazepine, then that's probably your answer. What besides TRT are guys doing? If you assume you have some magic potion, you are in for a disappointment. You still need to work out, eat right and work hard at both. From your answer, I guess I am that guy you are describing. I don't expect anything I had at 18, testosterone level included. Yeah, I'd love to be fast again, be able to touch a basketball rim, play college football, and recover from injuries in days rather than months, but I'm ok with it. I got on TRT 2 years ago at age 62.I was in good shape then and had been working out since age 13 steadily. Injuries would cause bad workouts and, despite all my efforts, muscle wasting was taking place. I hoped TRT would help and it did. Delivered as promised. I work hard, daily on all these things including my sex life. Some of us Old Princesses can still suck it up. I hope you can too.
