Doxazosin & PDE5 Protocol...

I've read about "Gene's Nitros stack" & many other posts about using doxazosin (dox) in conjunction with a pde5.

Question is this... does one have to use dox daily to achieve the reported benefits (i.e. better response to pde5) or can one just take it only on same day as as the pde5 or on "game day"? This question is more applicable to Viagra & Levitra as they have the shorter 4-5 hr window.

So basically say someone uses Levitra 1 hr before "game time", & they take dox earlier that day, will that yield desired results? Or does it have to be taken daily to yield "better response" results?

Agree with CoastWatcher. The idea behind the stack is to take very small daily doses to boost N.O. levels at all times, vs. a comparatively large dose an hour before 'game time' which may help in the short run, but not boost N.O. levels 24/7 like the stack will do.

The stack has a three times a day intake for a reason. Of ingredients in the stack though I only find a few that are essential: PDE5i, Arginine, Citrulline. 1mg Dox isn't necessarily doing anything that is a magic bullet to round things out. It's just the pharma edge to the stack that promotes vasodilation of the blood vessels, which NO does anyway. I do use DOX though.

Those of us here using it typically do so on a daily basis. A moderate dose is effective. Did you have problems with it?

I've been doing a modified version of "gene's stack" (minus the Dox) basically focusing on boosting nitric oxide using the following:
L-Citrulline
Pycnogenol
Beet root powder
Quercetin

Not sure I can say there has been a huge difference but it's only been a few weeks. I ordered some Dox & may try to answer my own question with adding it in, just on "game day". I'll report back if it has an effect by not using daily, but just on same day as pde5 use.

I am using a modified one as well, and I am not sure when I joined but it seems like for at least a year or more.

Before TRT I went from 320->230 just walking, low-carbing, and taking adderall. I was experiencing ED and started TRT. I still had ED symptoms and found this site. Right away started on Gene's stack. These days I slightly modify it:

- 3000 mg of L-Citrulline powder 3 times per day (just add the L-Arginine dose to my L-Citrulline)
-1 mg Doxazasin twice per day
- Beet Root Powder once per day, though need to cut budget to afford the DHEA/Pregnalone I'm thinking this may go
- Around 10mg of Tadalafi taken 5mg morning and night.
- 3 times per day Pine Bark Powder (being cheap and not buying Pycnogenol

Vascularity is improved. Blood Pressure way down. ED is not an issue, and actually I've become very very good in this area haha.

My opinion which is bro science and not scientific is there is something about the long-term usage of Tadalafil (and maybe Doxazosin) that relaxes everything. For instance I can absolutely verify adderall was causing what I thought was ED. Recently I tried adding it back to assist in brain power and weight loss and the adderall has zero effect on my erection. So the long-term nitric-oxide/PDE-5 inhibitor might be the reason. Actually I don't think it's bro science I could swear someone from this site posted a study about long-term use of Cialis permanently eliminating ED for some men.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
