Philip J. Koo, MD, discusses PSMA PET and how it is poised to supplant conventional imaging techniques in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. PSMA PET is also more effective in identifying lesions than using PET with fluciclovine, however, there is a threshold below which it cannot detect disease. Dr. Koo concludes that PSMA PET will be critical in diagnosis and staging as well as in patients with biochemical recurrence.
