Candidate for TRT?

Hello Everyone,

I've been reading this forum for the last few weeks and really appreciate the depth of knowledge being provided.

I'm 35 years old, 5'11" and 165 lbs.

My initial inquiry into the world of TRT began after a testosterone lab about 9 months ago came back at 224 total test.

I sat on my butt for the last 9 months continuing to suffer with symptoms like low libido, lack of concentration, low motivation, feeling generally weak and quickly fatigued during workouts, etc...

Just recently I reached out to a HRT specialist in my area and got comprehensive blood work done. I'm still waiting another week for my appt to review the labs with my doctor. In the meantime with the intent of getting as informed as possible I thought I'd see what your guys thoughts were.

Total T = 478
Free T = 6.7
DHT = 34
Estradiol = 9.6

Is my T low enough to be causing my symptoms? At those levels at my age would I be a candidate for TRT? Is it realistic to get it into a high enough range to alleviate those symptoms naturally? Keep in mind 9 months ago I was at 224.

In general I feel my daily diet, excercise and sleep habits are much better than the average male but could certainly be improved.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

At your age and total testosterone blood level you may have difficulty finding a doctor that would prescribe TRT. Your free T is lower than 2 percent which may mean that your sex hormone binding globulin is higher than normal.

What are your LH and FSH like?

I wonder why your estradiol is so low. Are you taking any supplements ?

I am sure you are aware about ways to increase your testosterone naturally.

Didn't get tested for FSH or LH?

Is that worth pursuing?

My TSH was 4.120

Had high level of creatinine and cholesterol was also high.

Could low estradiol lead to a decreased sex drive?

Nelson - Don't mean to hijack a thread, and you mentioned SHBG. Can that increase/decrease over time with testosterone replacement, or does it generally stay the same throughout treatment, as it was at baseline?
