Hello, lets start off by saying I was on TRT for 1 year and 9 months. at 110mg weekly split into two injections. Never took anything for estrogen. My doctor is willing to prescribe me Phizer Test cyp but has no idea about it or how to monitor it. Before coming on TRT my test level was at 12 between the 8.5 - 38 nmol so was told it was at the low end of normal. I was having anxiety lack of energy weak erections and so on. So I pushed my doctor to prescribe it to me. After a year and 9 months I got my cholesterol checked and it was threw the roof. My creatinine level was 120 and my EGFR was low at 60. so my doctor told me to come off the test. So my PCT was HCG first dose was at 2500IU then EOD after that was at 500IU this went on for 3 weeks. after stopping HCG i waited 3 days then started Tamoxifen at 40mg ED
for 2 weeks followed by 20mgED for 2 weeks. I'm now off everything and I have no sex drive, no erections, I'm weak I feel like shit. I'm having chest pains also having bad anxiety at night. Just had my blood work come back for testosterone, saw my doctor again today to say hey look at how low my test levels are now and he said well thats because u came off the test, you have to wait awhile for it to come back.. so I'm suppose to get my levels checked again in a month to see if it has gone up..

Is this doctor stupid or is he giving me the write advice? Should I be going back on TRT???? PLEASE HELP !!! look at my blood work below.

Defy Medical TRT clinic doctor
Good morning tbone. Sorry to hear about the roller coaster ride you have had to experience. It can be especially frustrating when your doctor is also unsure. First and foremost your protocol for coming off TRT was incomplete. You should check labs during the HCG and SERM (tamox) use to see if/how your body responds and to make adjustments. In addition that dosnt seem to be the best protocol for coming off TRT.

Did you have your hormones checked while on TRT? 110mg per week is a somewhat "normal" dose, and its difficult for me to believe that this dose brought your T levels high enough to cause these anomalies in your blood work. Although problems with cholesterol and high creatinine can be a side effect of testosterone, usually these side effects are associated with taking too much testosterone, or possibly an imbalance with other hormones (such as E2). These effects also commonly result from metabolic disorder associated with aging, poor diet, and other lifestyle factors. If it were me, before dropping TRT I would try to rule out other causes. Your anxiety can also be from the low T, many guys experience depression and increased anxiety when T is too low. You may want to find a physician who knows TRT and can provide better guidance, testing, and adjustments until you can find the prefect regimen.

Hello Jasen,

Thanks for the reply, I honestly took that amount of test no higher. My doctor would never test my E2 levels so possibly from that then? How do I find a doctor in my area that knows about TRT and how to treat and monitor it.? My doctor has shown me blood work that proves soon as I stopped TRT my creatinine and EGFR went to normal levels and so did my cholesterol.. this is another reason he does not want me back on TRT he says it will return to normal test levels soon and he gave me a prescription for Viagra LOL . come on thats not going to fix the problem. I need a good doctor!

Yes, you need a HRT Doctor for sure as everything Jasen said is spot on!

Call Jasen's office at Defy as they can work with you and get you the right medical help.

You don't need to see them but you will need to do a few things that will get them set-up to care for you...correctly.

Their number is here on the site.
