I feel the same way. I think the sinus stuffiness is an issue since it interferes sleep. I also get low back aches and heartburn. Vardenafil is better but shorter half-life.
I didn't experience nasal stuffiness with 1.25 MG, but I did with 2.5 MG. The tired feeling comes a few hours after taking the 2.5 MG dose, so for me I don't think it was related to lack of sleep, but to something else. I checked my blood pressure when I got home and it was OK, so the tired feeling wasn't from low blood pressure. I have read that some men experience tiredness as a side effect. It definitely helped with ease and quality of erections, even at the lower dosage.

does anyone get elevated heart rate from tadalifil? I find it keep my BP in a great spot but get increase in heart rate. is it strictly from increased vasodilation? I see Gene taking that big stack and it would not go well for my heart rate!

DAILY 5 MG TADALAFIL IN MEN WITH ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION AND DIABETES: A PROSPECTIVE, OBSERVATIONAL 2-YEAR STUDY

The Journal of Urology
Volume 195, Issue 4, Supplement, April 2016, Pages e1189-e1190

Men with ED and diabetes who were naïve to PDE5 inhibitors were assigned to 20 mg tadalafil on-demand or 5 mg tadalafil once daily and asked to provide information about erectile function at the start of treatment and after 2 years. When men completed the questionnaire after 2 years of treatment, they also stopped the medication for 4 weeks to check their baseline erectile function. The primary efficacy variable was the IIEF-EF score. Secondary efficacy variables included a change in the scores IIEF Q3 and Q4 from baseline, changes in all domain scores on the IIEF from baseline, SEP2 and SEP3, and the GAQ. Rigiscan® measurements of nocturnal penile tumescence and rigidity (NPTR) were also carried out 2 years after treatment.

RESULTS
The study enrolled 118 men (mean age: 56.2yrs) and most had mild to moderate ED (57.6%): 65 patients (55.1%) were prescribed 20 mg tadalafil on demand and 53 patients (44.9%) took 5 mg tadalafil once daily. Men who switched treatment patterns were excluded. The mean number of doses in the on-demand group was 2.9/month. After 2 years of treatment, the daily treatment group had a significantly greater change in the IIEF-EF domain score from baseline compared with the on-demand group (7.3 vs. 2.4, P < 0.0001). The changes in IIEF from baseline on Q3 (1.4 vs. 0.4, P < 0.0001) and Q4 (1.4 vs. 0.3, P < 0.0001) were higher in the daily group than in the on-demand group. Differences between the daily and on-demand groups were significant for SEP2 (53.8% vs. 32.3%, P = 0.0003) and SEP3 (56.6% vs. 15.4%, P < 0.0001). The difference in GAQ “YES” responses was also significant (66.0% vs. 27.7%, P < 0.0001). Normal EF domain scores (≥26) at the end of the study were achieved by 20.7% and 6.2% in the daily and on-demand groups, respectively (P = 0.0031). Normal patterns of NPTR at the end of the study were achieved by 13.2% only in the daily group. Most treatment-associated adverse events were mild and resolved spontaneously.

CONCLUSIONS
Long-term use of 5 mg tadalafil once daily was more beneficial for improving baseline erectile function or preventing ED than the on-demand pattern in men with ED and diabetes.

thank you Nelson. What can a guy do that suffers from BPH and some degree of ED? I am on a complete hormone replacement program already and at age 56 the Tadalafil worked great but after a few weeks could not take the heart rate sides.

Mark, just curious what dosage you are taking? I am only taking 1.25 MG, but have not experienced an increase in heart rate. My problem is that they make me feel tired, which interferes with my gym workouts. It is starting to bother my acid reflux too, so I am skipping my dosage today. Try a lower dosage and see what happens.

Some men do well on Flomax. It is an alpha-blocker that improves urine flow and can also improve erections, although not as strongly as a PED5 inhibitor. Trimix is also an option for ED.

I have a great doctor who's always willing to try new things. I'm 41 yrs old and my doc let me try cialis 2.5mg every other day just to see if it could improve things (I was curious). I read all of the many different benefits so I wanted to try it out. I definitely notice the heart rate increase and the relaxed/tired type feeling. My blood pressure was already good and it lowers it another 10 points. I went for a jog yesterday and my heart rate was super high which I didn't really care for. I'll keep toying around with the dose and see if I want to stick with it. Maybe I'll lower it to 1mg a day and see if that keeps some of the benefits and lowers the heart rate.

Just spotted this other post from you after you replied to my post yesterday regarding heart rate issues on Cialis. Did you end up finding a dosing that works for you with the increased heart rate?

What I've found to work for me is to take it sparingly. 2.5mg one day and then take a break for a few days. Taking it every other day consistently seems to keep my heart rate elevated. It's because it stays in your system for a while due to the long half life. Also, it's a vasodilator and it opens up your arteries which makes your heart rate go up to compensate.

This makes perfect sense. I found an online half life calculator just to check the math. Using the 17.5 hour Cialis half life it calculated that after 3.65 days you'd have 3.13% left in your system. Thus it would seem like if you wanted to be conservative taking it every 4 days would ensure dosages wouldn't overlap. Curious to know what your exact dosing schedule looks like. Again thanks again for all the feedback.

Did you end up getting over the heart rate issues? Same issue on this end even when dosing as low as 1.25 mg every other day. Curious to know if you came up with a dosing scheme to get over the hear rate issues.
