Hey,mgot my a1c checked, it was like 2 points over the top of the range. I have a good low carb diet, not much sugar, diabetes is rampant in the my family. So I am concerned. Should I be? If eat anything with many carbs in it, it is like taking a sleeping pill. Ideas? Thanks! Level was 5.8

My fathers was high and he did a five day fast followed by a low carb diet. His was much higher. At his followup appointment the labs and doctor showed his levels were normal. The doctor said it was one of only a handful of times he has seen someone reverse a diabetic diagnosis without meds. There is research that suggests even five days of a severe caloric restriction can esssentialky reset insulin response and reverse most cases of type 2 diabetes. Not sure but it seemed to work for him.

I agree with this, type 2 can be reversible with proper diet, it worked for me.

Thing is I am on a good diet. Body composition is great. I think genetics and a history of ingesting endocrine disrupting chemicals which caused the low t at 22 years old, is gradually going to cause me to have diabetes.

I've been eating LC/HF diet for 30 days now , My A1c was 6.1 on my last blood work that Nelson had me do. I started studying on it and changed my diet to LC/HF ...
I feel so much better its crazy my erections are so much improved it's awesome. Running high Blood Sugars will ruin your body.

Chris: I was like you, I have a 12% body fat...... It is a fact that like type 1 diabetes , type 2 is largely genetic. We should all know are A1c and learn a system called eat your meter!

You eat a meal then test your blood in one hour...It shouldn't go over 140... then test it again at two hours... It should of returned to pre meal numbers. If it goes to 160 or 180 you need to cut back on portion amounts or cut that food entirely. We are all different with how much sugar our body's can handle.

It's very sad because I LOVE SUGAR!! Lol
