Hi I'm from the UK 5ft 7 Athletic and weigh 70kg
I suffer from IBS and experience Low energy, Brain Fog, Excessive sweating/dehydration and mild depression
I thought id go see an endocrinologist privately as the NHS has a 6months+ waiting list

I have attached my blood test results and i think the T levels are low for my age at 11.5?
I have asked for further consultation after the results but they seem to think levels are normal and cant pinpoint whats causing the issues. I 'd like to press them on getting a second opinion on the Testosterone result maybe further tests?

Any input would be helpful

I'm from the UK
Its doutful you will get a good treatment protocol from the NHS, the NHS is the worst place to get TRT and in my option a waste of time do to lack of training in male hormones.

You're better off going private and have access to shorter esters which is preferred.

Your IBS may be caused by low-T or the IBS is causing the low-T do to not getting your nutritional requirements.

A lot of doctors are going to think these levels are normal, but most doctors get an F in male hormones as to what constitutes a normal level for an individual.

More testing is needed. I would test estrogen, Free T, LH and FSH next chance you get.

Watch this video below where Dr. Eugene Shippen explains a little more in depth about the normal ranges.

Skip to 20:00. I would also recommend 15:00 as a chapter to watch.

A vitamin D deficiency can cause IBS symptoms which can occur if you don't get enough exposure to sunlight and or are lacking vitamin D in your diet.

thank you for the advice I agree NHS is currently in a bad state I was given a 6 month + wait to get generic blood tests with basic T so I went private with endocrinologist.
I have no other underlying conditions generally fit and eat healthy it was the low T that concerns me the 11.5 doctor thinks thanks 'normal'. Watching the clip and they mention the GP should treat the symptoms rather than numbers.
I've found a couple Testosterone specialists i'm looking to do further blood work and will take what you recommended on board
as to Vit D I take a dose daily as we have low sun during the winter but also its effective in fighting off Covid
Mostly what concerns me is GP's dont understand what it is like living with such a condition thats debilitating day to day and not living to your full potential

I agree with Systemlord you'd ideally need more tests, certainly would be helpful to know your Free T levels. Would need to know your albumin levels but if they were normal (43) then your free T comes out at 0.232ng/dl which is low end. (The 2017 BSSM guidelines on adult testosterone deficiency with statements for UK practice state that a free testosterone level lower than 0.225 nmol/L provides supportive evidence for T therapy in the presence of appropriate symptoms). You are not far off that and may be lower than that if you knew what your albumin levels were. In my opinion, with symptoms such as low energy, brain fog, mild depression I would definitely get in touch with a TRT clinic, especially with bloods showing total T of 11.5ng/dl. Try the MojoClinic.com speak to Sam, he'll definitely be able to help. Good luck man.
