I’m feeling ok. Much better than I expected which is why I am holding off on any changes.
My sleep has been pretty erratic but slowly improving. ZMA is helping there. My body is definitely not what it was on TRT which was expected - despite that, I am getting in the gym about 3 days a week and...
Not necessarily. I’m planning on waiting a few months before making any decisions. I said my doc is likely not going to treat this - nowhere did I state I want to go back on TRT.
Follow up on my discontinuation of TRT.
To keep it short - when I was 24, my total T tested at 159 (264-916) on an afternoon blood test (wasn’t knowledgeable on T at the time and the importance of a morning test).
I was Put on Test cyp/hcg for 4 years or so with a brief intermission on clomid...
So so. Some days are great - I feel back to normal and everything is smooth. Other days are rough - I feel brain fog, fatigue, no sex drive. Especially when I’m not sleeping.
Possibly going to get bloodwork done in a few weeks. I’m hoping to hold out until 2 months after discontinuing Tamoxifen...
It’s been a roller coaster up until a couple weeks ago. The biggest issue has been my sleep which has finally began stabilizing. When I sleep good, I feel great. When I sleep bad, I feel pretty rough.
Overall, I feel great compared to what I expected. Very level headed - I plan on getting labs...
I’ve been off test cyp for 10 weeks, and quit my tamoxifen (as part of Hpta restart) a month ago.
My sex drive is about the same as I was on trt and definitely better than it ever was before trt.
I guess we will see if it continues. It did take a nose dive to essentially no sex drive while on...
If you’re prone to male pattern baldness, TRT will likely speed this up.
My take is if you’re willing to give up TRT due to going bald, then it is most definitely not for you. You can look into Rogaine though but I was “thinning” when I got on T and now 5 years later I’m almost completely bald...
here is my take: You inject exogenous testosterone into your body. You’re no longer considered “natural” unless you quit taking testosterone. I’m not in any way saying you should feel bad about that. However, no one on TRT can be considered natural despite what their levels may be on any given...
Very similar situation actually except our age - I’m 29.
I got on TRT at 24 after getting sober from drugs and alcohol. My T was very low but I had afternoon labs only and my blood test showed some other issues going on like severe anemia, gut issues, vitamin deficiencies. I was on several...
I don’t blame you. If coming off is what you feel you need to do, go for it. Maybe you’ll feel ok, maybe you’ll return to feeling terrible. Try and stick it out and see if you really are low T or if it was a combination of other factors causing it at the time.
If you return to feeling terrible...
I feel ya man, serms can be brutal. Clomid was actually much more tolerable for me.
I took tamoxifen for 2 weeks after a 2 week run with hcg (as part of coming off T) and it was awful. I was on only 10 mg a day and I could barely stand it - the nausea, ED, insomnia, everything.
I don’t know how...
Mind if I ask what kind of impact enclomiphene had on shbg? Free T?
I tried clomid and wrecked me. Total T was good but free t crashed and shbg was sky high. I’m interested because I’m still young and interested in maintain fertility over the next several years
I don’t think that’s the general mindset of most people on this forum. I think most people here are actually pretty conservative when it comes to recommending someone try trt. - especially compared to other trt forums.
Granted, there are a few who immediately assume TRT is the answer for...
Great question. I’m interested to see the discussion. My personal experience was that I used to run high, over range T levels. In time I was able to lower my total/free T level to mid range at trough and still feel good, just not like Superman all the time. A little more work was required in the...
I personally found splitting the doses to EOD or even every day also lowered E2 for me with hcg.
I went from 2x per week to EOD and even increased overall dosage and I had lower e2 levels. I know you’re already at 3x per week so maybe you could try every day?
My doc suggested 25 mg DHEA at night for sleep. Last night I gave it a shot and slept pretty good. This morning I felt pretty groggy and all day long I have felt drowsy/down/flat/depressed.
Is this due to the cortisol suppression from DHEA? I’m thinking maybe I’ll cut the dose down to 10 mg...
I take similar supps to you for sleep:
30 mg zinc/3 mg copper
400 mg magnesium glycinate
2.75 mg melatonin time release
I’m currently trialing DHEA 25 mg before sleep per my doctors request. Last night was the first time and it definitely helped me fall back asleep easier in the middle of the...
I guess the Defy protocol uses a “washout” period. I asked the same thing and I was told it was just a way to clean out the system of all androgens. That confused me as well
And you’re here not in any way addressing the question I had. Just making indirectly condescending comments. Which seems to be you’re primary method of communicating on this forum from what I’ve seen.
Thanks for the response. I’m aware of this but want to just follow Dr Saya’s instructions as he’s the doctor and I’m not.
I’m 28 currently. I wanna give it my best shot to come off T right now as if this doesn’t go well, I’ll commit to going back on TRT indefinitely. If doing a “restart” could...
I am attempting a restart after a long and thoughtful discussion with my doc. I was advised to take pregnenolone and DHEA during the restart but I was under the impression that this would be suppressive to my HPTA?
I always assumed supplementing those two were fine if on TRT, but suppressive if...
