Well, 2 of 8 men were negatively affected whereas the other were not affected. And the melatonin was administered at 5pm, which seemingly would disrupt the circadian cycle.
I think the issue of variability very important. The emphasis on strictly steady state levels probably at least to some extent, probably blunts the perceived and actual receptor level beneficial effects. A form of resistance perhaps.
I had it once and after several rounds of antibiotics it seemed nothing would work. Then I got a DRE - and it cleared up almost immediately, I felt better walking out of the office. So I can vouch a prostate massage can have real therapeutic value.
Since theses mechanisms of steroidogenesis are site-specific in the muscles, I think its safe to say it will take place regardless of the source of T or DHEA. I've previously seen other articles regarding the conversion of T to DHT in response to exercise, in the trained muscles. And some of...
FWIW I had previously reported in this thread that oral forms of DHEA or pregnenolone I had tried absolutely killed my sex drive. Based on another members feedback here, I tried a product made by Nature's Plus, called Instaceutic DHEA Spray, a sublingual application, with very good results as of...
I wanted to chime in here and report I started using the Nature's Plus lipoceutical DHEA sublingual spray mentioned in this thread - and feel better with it. There have been no negative issues as I had previously experienced with most forms of oral DHEA I had used in the past.
If you accept the hypothesis and clinical findings of the authors of the previous study, such a condition (degeneration of venous valves causing chronic higher back pressure in venous network) could lead also to venous leakage developing in concert with BPH. It seems the two conditions seem to...
The issue of venous problems may contribute to a variety of age-related problems with the male reproductive system:
Reversal of benign prostate hyperplasia by selective occlusion of impaired venous drainage in the male reproductive system: novel mechanism, new treatment

A close trim is generally best but certain areas a shave is the only way to get smooth, there is a product called Tend Skin which I have used for ingrown hairs and it really works great.
I'll take a shot at this - likely over-simplifying, but (along with numerous other factors) the parasympathetic nervous system governs erections while the sympathetic governs orgasms, so I simply suspect that some of these medications under certain conditions can tip the balance towards...
Theoretically, taking more frequent small shots may help with this because it reduces the peak blood levels. But the pharmaco-dynamics and kinetics of the oil-based esters is a little different than most drugs.
Consider, smaller dosage shots also reduce the size of the oil "depot" which is...
I love milk but found I was always healthier (leaner, better digestion) avoiding it. I switched to raw milk and these issues went away. I know lots of others who have had benefits from raw. I also take whey protein and casein protein powders (from (Optimum Nutrition - I prefer the "natural").
Orrin, I just re-read this thread and I am curious if the micronized DHEA you are taking is the same as what Gene recommends (McPherson Labs) or something different? I have used LEF in the past.
I agree these movements, and their variations, should form the base foundation of any lifting program. The only thing I would add which I have found useful at times, are kettlebell swings and snatches.
James, steroid hormones (including DHEA) in the body are derived from cholesterol - your DHEA numbers looks good enough (I think - really need ref. ranges) so I doubt there is a lack of prohormones for your testosterone production. However, that's not to say there couldn't be other nutrient...
So for Paco, his diagnosis is secondary hypogonadism. He has tried HCG monotherapy, which has resulted in good blood values, but he is still having symptoms. Should he expect better results with TRT vs. HCG monotherapy? On the downside, the TRT therapy alone will shutdown the testicles...
Gene is correct the cause of the steroid induced hypogonadism is lack of LH signaling due to pituitary shutdown (secondary hypogonadism).
My thinking, was along the lines that, the longer the cycle of TRT, the testes atrophy or shutdown due to this lack of signaling - at least until signaling...
In regards to the original topic of this thread - your question regarding does TRT cause primary hypogonadism? I would say yes, at least temporarily to some degree while on TRT, but the hcg protocol is designed to counter this.
Yes, I agree I am not a strict believer in following the blood work vs. the subjective symptoms but my quick opinion was based on your numbers which are very good. But the HCG monotherapy is still not a natural pattern of hormone production, is it? thus it is possible that the pattern of T...
Ha, well I was thinking more like consumerlabs should. Regular blood work should tell one something about the quality and consistency of product one is taking. Although that can add up after a while, and things get a little more complex when stacking HCG which will also be driving T levels up...
Yes, my guess its something to do with SHBG or estrogen. Ive tried lower doses but it still happens. An occasional dose seems to provide a mild boost in overall energy and well being.
